6233 vs 5300 is just becoming fight y u people dont understand that 6233 is compleatly diff. from 5300 u cannot compair them .....how can u compair 3D sound with mono sound & 2 magapix with 1.3.........3G with non 3G and for all those people who say compair it side to side in hands ........they dont even know 5300 has 2.5 mm audio pin NOT 3.5 mm..........and if u still say 5300 is the best go to 5300's opinion side.............i am using 6233 and i dont even think of changing my phone i got 1G sd card in it which is always full ..i dont face any problems in it.......some small problems are camra shutter sound,,,vedio fast farword........if 5300 dont have these prob. then tell.and yes u want to say 5300 is good go to 5300 opinion side hear it is all about 6233.
Now the firmware is stable this is the finest phone I've ever used/owned. I know the N73/N95 etc have more features but the 6233 has lots of features crammed in to a sleek candybar design.
The keypad is absolutely perfect and a joy to use and text with, the screen is QVGA and very sharp (this is one of Nokia's strong points) and S40 3rd edition is ideal for my needs (I don't need S60).
I am really looking forward to the 6233's inevitable successor but for now this phone is perfect. Anyone wanting a mid-range device should look no further.
I Had this fone since November 2006. Its a great phone just lacks the Front camera for video calling everything else just great
6233 is very fast in speed of user interface, I have 512MB full memory card and it has no problems. And I have a lot of themes by the way ...
5300 5300 5300 5300 5300 5300 5300 5300. is a MUSIC phone.
6233 6233 6233 6233 6233 6233 6233 - is a Music + Business phone .
OK OK OK OK
i've used this phone quite some time now, it's nice.. what I hate about it is it's performance.. it's a real turtle, veeeeery slow... hate it.. I heard that 5300 performs fast.. Im planning to change to that model.. I find it to be very nice..
It is about different phone series and different types of phones, not only "phone class". 8*** series are luxorious phones, and if 6233 was released by the time 8250 was released, OF COURSE 8250 would be much more classy. Like comparing 8800 cold edition and 6300 in therms of class level! Of course 8800 cold edition is the classier phone.
And while 5*** series are more "dedicated" phoens, like 55 00 sport, 53 00 music... 6*** are more all round and business type of phones. That is all about. When compare it's very important to consider the year of releasing the phone and the position in its series, becouse 60** phones (6085 for ex.) hardly could be compared to 53** or 55** phones. But if you compare 6300 to 5300, then you'll see the differences...
Iam about to buy a phone but lil bit confused. i've read opinions in almost every phones column and iam still puzzled I want to buy a phone which has good sound quality especially loud MP3 ring tones with awesome quality, excellent Messaging storing space and call log records like 3230. But it should be nokia. Is there any phone which has all these qualities. Plz Plz Plz tell me price no matters for me.
6233 - Business + Fun(with them stereo speakers) and VGA video
5300 - Music + Fun (i would rather buy SE W850i)
the choice is UP TO YOU they can NOT be compared there both in different categories
5300 - Music
6233 - Business
whats all the fuss about ????
to 6233 user.. hahaha, is that ur idea of a phone class??
If that is so, then we can say that the nokia 8210, 8250 are better than 6233 because they belong to class 8?? huh? is that how it works..??
think about it dude...
for freeken 5300 lovers compair the shape of both phones they dont even close to match some people like slim (moto) , sum people like shiny (6233) and some people like phones like a toy (5300)(w800i) non of these phones r perfect u java phones cannot be perfect u want perfect phones go for N95,E series all java phones have there on functions ........... u like it or not.......................and for those who says 5300 is batter then 6233 then i say 6233,W800i,W810i,even 1100 is batter then the sope looking device(5300).....why the hell a job doing person buy 5300 give this phone to your small sister or brother thy will like it more then u.......
In this way of thinkin 7*** series is for fashion phones, and 8*** series are the luxorious devieces. 9*** are comunicators and N** are Nokia multimedia computers ... :) how they claims.
Correct me if I'm wrong...
Well, 3g is not useless.
First, you can recieve 3g video transmision in 3g call.
Second, you can send 3g video transmision from your 2MP camera on the back.
Yes there is no front camera and it is somewhat strange, but you still can make 3g calls, and moreover you can send and recieve data with 3g speed.
About the class I was speaking about 6233 is a part from 6xxx series of all round phones, while 5300 is a part of 5xxx series of dedicated phones.
to 6233 user: I was a bit puzzled on your idea.. 6233 is a class above 5300??
if that's what you think then you're wrong..
so what if 6233 offers 3g, I agree with lily, that feature is virtually useless in this handset(why?...try to ask again).. And even if it does have 3g, BOTH 6233 and 5300 belong to the S40 class ver 3..
they belong to the SAME CLASS..
so don't send 6233 so high sky rocketting to the levels of smartphones..
besides, 5300 works notably faster..
don't think that 6233 is a class higher than 5300, thay are the same.. but 6233 is intended for business, 5300 is intended for fun..
And the other one mentioned 6233 having richer business features...
well, it's a pity coz 5300 has richer music and fun features..
look, i'm not a music fan.. But 5300 is also an all-round competitor.. It doesn't work just for music.. it could satisfy all your other expectations, over-all performance of 5300 is better, 6233 is only better at its imaging and 3g connection(which is virtually useless in this handset..
whether u r music fan or not.. my PERSONAL OPINION is that 5300 is still a better pick..
This is a comment section about Nokia 6233, not about 5300. Here is the exact place where we should underline the advanteges of 6233 over every other models includeing 5300.
Excuse me for the initial mistake.
Nokia 5300 fans, stop manipulate the readers.
Molly says: "stop the argument, 5300 is clearly better"

GSMArena.com says in their review of 5300: "bellow average camera quality". Just the opposite, they give positive comments on 6233 photos and video quality. I'm quating for the factology. Moreover, the first "bellow average" is for 1MP camera (5300), while the second positive words are for 2MP (6233). No place for comparision here. 6233 +
Nokia 5300 has 31x42 mm TFT, 256K colors display (13.02 sq. cm). Nokia 6233 has 2' TFT 256k colors display. Which means exactly 12.9032 square centimetres OR 31x41,6 mm. How you can see there is a 0.4 MM (!) super minor advantege for 5300 in the size of the display which hardly could be notice with human eye. Almost equal, but lets give a + for 5300 for all music fans :).
6233 is 81cc, 5300 is 85cc. That means 6233 is the smaller phone. (while 5300 is 106g. vs 110g. for 6233)
6233 = 5300
Standard battery, Li-Po 1100 mAh (BP-6M)
Stand-by Up to 340 h
Talk time Up to 4 h
Standard battery, Li-Ion 760 mAh (BL-5B)
Stand-by Up to 223 h
Talk time Up to 3 h 10 min
5300 beats convincigly except that 6233 has STEREO speakers, while 5300 has MONO.
6233 HAS a2dp bluetooth profile, which was enabled with FW update of the phone.
6233 is a 3G phone.
So, even if we consider that 5300 has bigger display than 6233 (with 0.2-0.3 sq. inch) the result is 3:2 for 6233.
Anyway, 6233 as a 3g phone and more features is a class above 5300. 5300 is a music dedicated phone, while 6233 is an all round competitor. If you are music fans, you surely will like much more 5300, but otherwise it is not serious to tell us how better is 5300 compered to 6233. :)
What are the list of commands available through Voice Command ? I coudn't find this info anywhere including the User Guide.
Also, how is the performance of Voice Command? Does it work well?
Any info is highly appreciated.
