Dear all tech swavy guys could any one of you answer my question. While on GPRS i surfed the 'nokia software' website where certail softwaes are available for a certail price. To name a few one is available for protecting the privacy of messages thus preventing others to peep into and the one software with which we can create a secured space for storind cofidential information as credit card numbers and passwords. But when i tried to download one of them the site prompted for processing payment details of credit card while it did not reveal ANYTHING ABOUT THE COMPATIBLE HANDSETS So i am not sure whether those software once purchased and downloaded, will work over my 6233 or not sinse it is a series 40 phone? Any body tried it ever? any concrete suggessions are highly welcome i brought this phone by seeing your views readers so please help me out.
please please help me. i\my heart was set on buying the n73. but i was offered a nokia 6233. i know its not really comparible but besides the fact that n73's camera is so gr8 wats the diff between the two.
6233 dnt hv video call which sucks:( but wud i actually use it?
can anyone tell me bout the 6233's software. i use my gprs/internet ALL day. so i need a dtring phone. i also take lots of pics so i dnt want a phone that will become slow or freeze.
and what's that whole 40 60 thing?
6233 is a 40 and n73 is a 60. please reply asap thanks
- it is s40 v3, not s60 v3 symbian
- no flash
My opinions so far:
- great display/screen (although d900/6288 has bigger screen)
- great keypad
- great sound from stereo speakers
- great customization options
- good battery
- average camera, especially when there is bad light ; video recorder is much better than 2mpix camera
I have an important question before i buy this phone! Since the phone memory is only 6 MB and knowing how sending files via bluetooth on nokias is, can you send a file larger than 6 MB to the phone? Or does it still automatically send to the phone memory?? Someone plz reply!
can anyone tell me whether this phone has a office document viewer?
Thanks in advance
I've had the nokia 8800, n90 and a few others. the 6233 not only seems to have evolved from the slick looking 8800, but it has better features and is heaps lighter.
A phone i recommend!
I have the excellent Nokia 6233 phone for a while and this phone rules over all. I have found some tips that could enhance media on the phone. These may apply to other phones as well. Enjoy!
NOTE: These tips apply to Nokia 6233 and may apply to others as well. I won't take any resposibility on what would happen on your PC/Phone resulting from these tips. I have tested them thorougly.
1. Improve camera output
As you know, the 6233's camera is of average quality. It Here's a way to improve the image output by a small amount.
And never take shots at night as the camera sucks at doing so.
Use irfanview ,a freeware image editor from www.irfanview.com to open up the image. Then go to Image,Effects,Blur. Then, go to Image,Sharpen. The image should have improved a bit.
2. Make your music loud without crackling
6233 has very loud speakers and the best I've seen in a mobile phone. Here's two tips to make your music louder without side effects such as crackling.
You can apply both tips together!!
1st tip: On the 6233 equalizer, set the first slider on the left to 1 notch down, second to 1 notch up, third to 1 notch up, fouth to 2 notches up and fifth to 2 notches up. Then, rename it to anything you please.
2nd tip: Download wavepad, a freeware sound editor program from http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/. Copy the mp3 file from your MicroSD card to your pc. Open the song in wavepad. Select Edit,Select All. Then, go to Effects,Amplify. Enter 150. Then, press OK and save. Copy the song back to your card. Please remember to make backups!!!
3. Make ringtones
You can make ringtones from your mp3 files by opening in Wavepad (mentioned above). Then highlight in the spectrum window the time range of the song you want to copy. Then, select Edit,Copy. Then, go to File,New,OK. Paste the data, then save as MP3 or anyother format that your phone supports.
That's all. I will add more tips as I find them.
You people say you can't FF or RW video but gsmarena says you can FF videos with a time jump of 10 seconds? (Link below). Which one is true?
Has anyone tried to play mp4 video file? (Not h263 or 3gp codec - real mp4 codec). Does it play with 25 fps or 15 fps?
http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_...5.php(...The previous S40 Nokia phones had no option to fast forward videos but now you can set a user defined time jump with a minimum of 10 seconds. ....)
Got this phone a week ago. I recommend it for its price range. Anyway, anyone know of a software so I can FF or RW videos?
hi.. i was intending to buy this fone.. but i was wondering.. this fone is a 3g fone.. but there is only 1 camera.. so how are we suppose to use video call??
hi, i know where to get aac music if u have the pcsuit cd install it go to music, and u need a cd with a music, you save it then put it in the phone.
i have had the 6233 for 2months knw and its not a bad phone, the only bad side of the handset is that you cannot change the case if you damage it..
i bought 6233 last month and i want to download games and themes so pls suggest me from where i can download them and how to download them PLS
Overall very impressed with this phone, first time I held it I was underwhelmed, but having had the phone now for well over a month I've come to the conclusion that its actually a really good phone.
Just one question though, is it possible to keep the clock constantly on the screen when you are not using the phone? The clock stays there for less than a minute and then the screen goes blank and to see the time you have to unlock the phone which unnecessarily uses the battery.
Minor gripe, but it is slightly inconvienient
Hi Guys..i bought this fone last month after selling my nokia 6680..the fone is really kewlll..the sound rocks like anythin..it has got bluetooth 2.0 and the os is symbian 40 3rd edition..its damn fast in accesing..the battery lasts 4 longer time..but with mp3 on loudspeaker the consumption of battery is more..it shoots video at 640*480 resoulution.ver as even sonys k series cannt do it..well its an outstanding performer..but it lacks business application supporting feature..cam quality is quite gud..simply its the loudest fone from the family of nokia..its even louder than 3250..guys the only disadv is while changing themes the profiles do change to default..anyways it worthed to buy than an N series fones..the display is damn clear n brighter than n series...
