Ruthie: Yes it does have the 'Go To' function on the left button like the 6230 and 6230i.
.........its de perfect choose of nokia lover especially de users of 6230 and 6230i........
it solves allmost all de drawbacks of 6230i

but i brought dis a couple of weeks ago now 6233 is de best........... i have small opinion abt nokia 6233 is its 2mp camera is not worth 2 say 2mp.........i think nokia can do gr8 than dis cam quality...........
Here's the answers to some of your questions:
FuriousPlay: You can increase the size of the font on the 6233. Just go to menu -> settings -> display -> Font size, and change it to whatever you want.
Rob: No you can't use the MMC. It has to be Micro SD. But you do get a 64mb card with the phone.
LoverBoy: The N73 does have a better camera and better display etc, but it is heavier and bigger than the 6233 and also, it only has 42MB internal memory and doesn't come with an SD card like the 6233, for more info on the 2 phones, visit here http://www.nokia.co.uk/phones/...3&phone=6233
Jason: You need to have a bluetooth dongle or something connected to your computer to is can send and receive files. If you can get one of these it will have software with it.
Also, the thing about discharging the battery and charging it up fully a good few times has always worked for me. I always recommend doing this and it even recommends doing it in the nokia manual. I've been messing with my phone for 3 days now and the battery is still half full. Try turning the bluetooth off and turn packet data to 'when needed' to try and conserve a bit more battery.
Also, Ak47wong: Haha! Yeah, i had to put it down to have a shower and go to the toilet :( But I picked it straight back up again!
how does one determine firmware being used and is it necessary to upgrade???
Thanks Furiousplay. i am aware of the SMS 'special tone' it is louder but I hate that tone! So there is no fix then??
Also, I know this phone has bluetooth, but how do you get the damn thing to work. I did get any Bluetooth software to load and cant find it on the nokia site?? (by the way never used bluetooth before and use IR at moment)
So sad about its huge size and no flash... I guess for the same size, better buy the N73.
Does the phones available in India are with 4.52 firmware or 3.7. Does any one know what are differences in these.
There's no point in fully discharging n recharging the battery to improve performance.
That has been an misconception since 1970's. Do abit of research on the web n u will find the info.
There is no memory effect, n fully discharging before charging again has no benefit contrary to popular belief.
The first thing to notice about the 6233 is the feel - very solid chassis, sublime feel on pressing the keypad, tactile, feels very robust and oozes quality.
Functionality is typical Nokia i.e. good. The existing ringtones and message alert tones are fairly thin on ground but good quality I guess.
Haven't had any software glitches as yet. Stereo speakers are surprisingly good. Display is clear and vibrant. Camera is reasonable, could be better though for a 2mp unit.
All up, 8.5/10
very bad phones, lots of complain and camera quality sux compare to k750 which the same 2mp
Does anybody know if it's only MicroSD memory card the nokia 6233 takes? Becuase i have a MMC card and dont want to buy another memory card
I love my 6233 that I bought a couple of weeks ago, although I have encountered a few minor glitches. Sometimes the media player will just shut down in the middle of a song for no apparent reason when using the speakers and usually after playing several songs successfully. Also can someone tell me the way to check the firmware on that phone? Is it easy to upgrade? Thanks.
For fast forwarding keep a long press on right or left when plying a movie or melody or something
Can someone pls tell if spy call software can be used on nokia 6233. Thank you friends.
I just wished that the 6233 fonts could be larger, like the 6230i that it replaced.
I have a tempo solution for the soft sms alert. it seems that the sms alert in the 6233 is programmed for an ascending tone, meaning the first one or two seconds is barely audible. switch to "special" tone
and you will hear the last 5 tones quite loudly - hope this helps
