reading about this phone i was thinking it was great, a really good idea for nokia to do a phone in the 3g market thhat isnt as high end as the n70 or 6680 but then no front camera is just terrible on a 3g phone! whats wrong with nokia lately? even the n91 lacks the front camera!

My 6234 arrived earlier than expected and yay, it's got night mode! And, SO FAR, I'm chuffed with the phone. The sound is phenomenal and the camera is fab. What's everyone going on about when they say they can't believe there's no camera on the front??? Don't quite understand what they mean by this. Just change your navi-key settings and you can program it to take you straight into the camera, whichever way you press it.

I'm having a 6234 delivered on Monday because I hated the keypad so much on my 6280. I don't admit to know everything about mobiles but having read one of the reviews on this site, which includes:-
....the only fault that i could think of with is was the lack of a flash,but providing theres enough light the camera is awesome.
When I read this, I thought "oh dear" - I'm obviously downgrading whereas I thought I was getting a phone on a par with the 6280. So it hasn't got a flash? Can someone tell me please if it still has "night mode"? I found this very good on previous Nokias, including the 6280. Hope someone can help, please? Thanks for reading.

What in the name of sweet Jesus is there no camera on the front of the phone? Its supposed to be the same as N70 and V3x but wtf? Video calling is pointless on this phone, you need a front camera so as not to be turning the phone around to see who you are talking to, HOW COULD THEY F**K UP ON THIS? WHAT A MESS OF A PHONE. BIN IT

and to continue previous post, wouldn't change k750 for 6234 because: k750's better battery, better photos & display, better audio (walkman / radio) quality; call quality is quite the same BUT my k750 has the latest firmware update (with previous versions, call quality was bad).would use 6234 for size, keypad and because it is newer. would use k750 for music, photos, activity-menu, file-manager and because its larger internal memory. 6234 saves received files in on-board memory and then you have to move it to external memory (that's bad...)

got one yesterday from vodafone romania. comparing it with k750i it has good handling, nice materials, good keypad(let's say 8/10 for this one and 5/10 for k750i), the camera button is too small. Audio quality is ok, sms ok, haven't tried 3g and camera quality (but it does have video vga resolution).PC sync OK. Media plyer ok (but not as good as k750i), radio quality a little under k750i.It seems a bit more easy than k750; the screen is a bit bigger, but the display quality a little worse. can't figure out how can i see exactly how much battery i have left except for the bar icon on top. active stand-by is not qood-looking, but practical after you get used with it. is good that you can customize all soft keys (unlike k750i where you can change only joystick functions). i was dissapointed to see that it really doesn't bring anything new. it is a copy of k750 made by nokia, with small additions like 3g, vga video capture and flight-mode, but without autofocus and less interesting interface graphics (6234 interface is practical but not very nice).

i get one nokia 6234, and very nice.....fast.....everything working, i only dont like when i make a call the message of money rings as was a sms message, it really suck, but everything rest, 99 % okay :)

The phone is excelent nothing to complane about just that will be funny when i`ll have to use my 3G service for video-calling having the camera at the back :) happy with the phone

My previous phone was a Nokia 6230i and all my contacts are backed up using the PC suite. I just picked up a 6234 and went to synch with my laptop but with no luck. Loaded up the latest PC suite, and have found out that this phone is not supported. Is there any fix for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Btw - i can't copy from my old phone bc it is dead (fell into a glass of beer!!)

I think the phone is perfect!! It would be even more perfec if it had a Symbian OS!! But wtf!! It's cool!! And quite cheep!!!

I have just got a nokia 6234 on vodafone contract.
When i select an mp3 as a ring alert it starts off really quiet and then gets louder even though its set to 'Ringing'
Also the Text alert is so quiet i cant hear it, and the ring volume is on the highest.
When i try to use the calcualtor the phone restarts itself and also when i listen to music it soemtimes restarts itself.... i have firmware version 3.50 which i believe is the lastest version but my phone is less from perfect and its really annoying. can anyone help plz
