I would want to know if this phone is worth buying as of tod... moreBILLY, you better look elsewhere.
You WON'T be able to make that many calls at so many minutes and do all the other stuff you mentioned on a single charge.
Let me put it this way, I was able to get a total of 4 hours worth of talk time on a single charge, at 2 calls a piece...the battery died right after.
The calls you want to make on a single charge, let's say 12 calls at 20 mins...that's exactly 4 hours worth of talk time. There wouldn't be any charge left for you to send text, play 1 hour of music and take photos.
You better find a s60 phone like the E50 which have a standard talk time of 6hr. 40 mins. with the battery that comes in the sales package and an optional extended battery (you have to buy this separately) which will give you 8 hours of talk time.
The 6300 simply CANNOT do all that you want to do on a single charge.
Please let me know the outcome of your decision.
Anonymous, 04 Aug 2008No, you cannot view nor send messages while a application or game is running because this seri... morethnx for the help..
although i wud prefer 6120 cuz its got exactly wht i want, but its the issue of money dat im facing.. but unfortunately there's lil price differnce b/w the two.. so i gues i'l move to 6120 unless i find a used (reliable) 6300..
ayaz, 04 Aug 2008glad to knw ur response on sms capacity.. thnx
but one more question.. can i view/send msgs... moreNo, you cannot view nor send messages while a application or game is running because this series Nokia doesn't support mulitasking.
The ONLY form of multitasking you can do with this phone is to listen to audio whether from the Music Player or Radio and do something else like view, send a text message or view contacts or anything else you can think of.
To do that just start the audio from either source then press the 'End' key (red button) to go back to standby mode...then you can perform any other task you wish to while the audio is playing in the background.
The Nokia 6300 is a series 40 (s40) phone. If you want to be able to truly mulitask, you have to get a series 60 (s60) phone...like the Nokia E50, N70, 6120 classic etc.
Keep in touch and let me know what you plan to do.
glad to knw ur response on sms capacity.. thnx

I would want to know if this phone is worth buying as of today keeping in view my need for a phone as
1) sending sms
2)making 10-12calls a day of 20-30mins duration
3)using the radio/stored music for 1hr a day
4)clicking/storing pictures....(in terms of the capacity of the camera functionality)
how many hours does the battery actually last
its camera sucks indoors. it needs a lot of light present, otherwise your whole picture turns into fuzzy greenish pixels.
plus, the low battery life. i have to recharge everyday because i leave my bluetooth on.
internal memory sucks too (only 10 MB), with only 5 MB internal to spare, i can't receive large files on bluetooth because it can only store it in the internal memory, can't configure it to use the memory card for received files.
i have to say that the fone is easy enough to use but the battery is crap . i have been told to turn the blue tooth off and that would fix the problem , that was also crap . would not recomend this fone to anyone!!!!!
For those asking about the message capacity: I have 1,796 sms messages and there's no low message warning yet.
i have this fone right now... and i could barely understand how it works.. i received some tones from my friend, and i want these tones to be my message alert tones... i kept on exploring this fone but i could still not figure out how to do that? does anybody know how to? please, badly need your help... if you could, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
how many msgs can this fone save?
can i view msgs/write msgs when using any application/game?
Anonymous, 31 Jul 2008Can I use my memory stick Pro duo 1.0 gb in this mobile?Ther's no way to use a Memory Stick with this phone, it uses Micro SD only, up to 2 gb. Think of that
to be honest, i thought the phone would be great..having only nokia phones for the last 10 years, I would say this phone is ok. I bought it last February, and now it's broken. =(. I'm not sure if the battery is the reason, but I can't charge my phone now. It freezes a lot and I have to manually open the case and remove the battery before I can restart it.
The other thing is that, for some odd reason, I'm allergic to the metal casing. It makes the side of my face itchy.
It was good while it lasted...
this phone is good in everything, except the battery life....really sucks. I had to buy a charger and put in my office. really disappointing. Thrust me.
Other than that is the alarm. It allows u to set only one at a time. I mean if u need to set 2 or more alarm in a day....u can't. U hav to set the 2nd alarm after the first alarm activated.
ayaz, 02 Aug 2008hi all. im planning to buy this fone however i need clarification on some issues:
1. is thi... moreHi!
yes, your batteri would be dead after doing all that u mentioned in your first question!
And i'm almost 100% sure about that if not your batteri dies earlier!
But notice, this phone is very good the only drawback is the batteri...
Now u decide, either u gonna buy this phone and charge it every day or go for another phone if charging the phone is to annoying for u..
hi all. im planning to buy this fone however i need clarification on some issues:
1. is this fone's battery really that bad? if i want 20-30 msg a day, 1 hr of gaming/gprs and 1-2 small calls each day, how long wil the battery last?
2. how many messages (SMS) can this fone save maximum?
3. can i minimize any app for reading/writing msgs?
I NEED HELP!
There's one ringtone i need to get from the nokia 6300! Its a build in ringtone when u get, when u buy the phone..
I think the name of the ringtone is something like.. tiptoe, tictac, tiptop ...or something like that.
I'm almost sure it had 6 letters and was one the last ringtones u could choose on the phone!
Plz help me to find the name of that ringtone i need to download it!!
WOW this is a great phone!!!!! One of the best i have ever owned, Very thin and sleek, great features, tons of apps you can download for it!!
Nokia 6300 design is really compact since Nokia 6100 & 8210. However, the battery life is really poor and the quality of photo taking not so good as well as it claimed it has 2 mega pixel, but the pics quaility just like 1.3 pixel only.....
