initially was thinking of getting this phone, but after trying it found that the navigation button really sucks. My fingers are painful after pressing them for even a few seconds...

Helo am a 6300 user for 1month...Great phone..eye catching design..excellent music quality(can be compared with walkman series while in headset)..battery might not be long lasting but can remain 2days easily...keypad is so nice...camera has no shutter and an autofocus but its better in day light...if you are looking to change your phone get this 6300...it rocks...i'm loving it!

Guys,
Wait for the N77... its a brilliant phone with all the features and stereo speakers...
It has Symbian... and therefore it is possible to install many more applications...
but form factor wise this phone is brilliant..

As Freddie posted on 2007-05-13, I use a BL-5C battery that I had from a broken N70. i just had to rub part of the plastic part of one end of the battery since it is half a milimiter thicker. However, the cover closes perfectly. it seems the phone weights a few more grams, but battery life is much, and i mean, much better. Can´t tell you in hours, but easyly 25-30% longer. I wouldn't have bought a new BL-5C to customize it for my 6300, but since i have it...

Now, i have a question. is it Ok what i did or can i have some problems?? I hope the phone doesnt explode on my ear or gives me an electric shock :)

Now, with this customization, i have to say that the telephone is excelent. I will buy a 2 Gb card and once it gets "old" i will still use it like an mp3/radio player (kind of like an ipod nano but with a telephone). BTW, it reminds me a lot of the Sony Ericsson T610, my favourite phone till now. This one is even better. Excelent construction quality.

the phone clarity is awesome, the picture quality unbeatable with16m colors..and ofcourse the camera picture quality is bright with good contrast,,but quite a few drawbacks comparing to sony erricson cybershot, very slow in browsing with names, especially if you have few hundred of them to search through,,,its heavy, doesn't complement the size and thickness.,battery back is awful,,a second hand battery performs better. overall phone is sleek and good but not powerful unlike the cybershot.

Just got my Nokia 6300 and I am generally very happy with it, but I am having problems with the reception it keeps just dropping the calls. Looked at the manual and it says you have to hold the phone carefully to avoid blocking the antenna but this isn't very comfortable. Is anyone else having problems with the reception or have I got a faulty phone?? I am on the same network I had with my other mobiles and have not had the same reception problems.

Personally, the battery life doesn't bother me. It depends how much you're going to be using the extra features. If you want to listen to music all the time, then maybe you'll want to get a phone more geared for that. For those who just want a phone and will use the extra features now and then, there's no need to worry about battery life. Personally opinion really. The phone isn't for everyone but I think its fantastic.
