i've always been a nokia customer and previously had a 6300 now i've switched to a 6500 classic, i like it but one bad bad thing sticks in my mind about it. on most other phones once your battery goes you plug the charger in and after a few minutes you can switch it on, well on this 6500 you have to leave it about 45 minutes for the phone to charge up and then switch on. i hate my phone for that reason.

> In reply to Paul @ 2008-05-29 06:01 from PNjAHi Paul thanks for the reply. However I got my handset replaced and the # key is working correctly now. When I press and hold it, the profile changes to silent now instead of the line change. Not sure if there are different batches of the handset?

I love the phone but he battery life is really an issue. Have to charge it frequently and cannot monitor when it will die. Very problematic as I use it daily for business calls. Previous Nokia much better with battery life. Seems like the battery downgraded

The Battery life of the Nokia 6500 Classic is nowhere what is given as specification
The Standby tiem i found was no more then 45 hours and talk time not more then 3 hours.
After talking continiously for 30 minutes the handset becomes hot.

> In reply to Nokiauser01161982 @ 2008-05-27 22:43 from Qhdq# button is a generic button for the Nokia to change the line number unless you program the key as a shortcut, this is not the model just a Nokia thing.

There are times when i can't receive sms, you need to restart to receive all messages, problems is you don't know when it happens so to make sure, especially when you are expecting an sms, you regularly restart your phone. Yes, battery life is too short for a new cellphone and yes i agree, it is beautiful.

I bought this phone a few weeks ago and apsolutely love it. I work for vodafone AU and sell so many of them.
It has a great design and a beautful weight, you always know that its there in your pocket. The buttons are awesome once you get used to them and the sound quality is really good.
Nokia have made a great phone here, and im really pleased.

We sent one of these back to Optus thinking it had a problem freezing up. We have the same problem with the replacement Turned out it was really battery which had gone dead. Seems that the battery life is no where near advertised. AND we are using only GSM. No other features.

Quick question. When I press the hash key (# key) on my nokia 6500 classic it does not change the profile to silent. Instead it changes the line from Line 1 to line 2 or vice versa. This is annoying as I have to go into the menu to change the profile all the time. Does anyone else have this problem? Can I change the setting for the hash key somehow??
