I agree with who_berak. The Malaysian price of RM1,470 for this phone is TOO MUCH. The phone doesn't even have HSDPA... 3G only 384 kbps. Justifiable if got HSDPA.

It has s40 fp 5th edition good cell to show off from nokia atleast u dont have to leave for most basics a lot better than v8

I'm not sure why you have such a problem with o2. I have been their customer for years and have always had excellent value for money and customer service. I currently pay £35 per month, and for that I get 1000 free minutes to any network at any time, and 750 free texts. I have also never paid for a handset, even though all my phones have been brand new on the market when I got them. Fair enough, the stores and website may state handset prices next to them, but o2 are very flexible when it comes to negotiating. At certain times, I have contacted them to advise that I could get a better deal with another operator and they have always bettered the deal, without even asking for proof or checking. And getting a phone from o2 is, without a doubt, better than getting it from any other network because they don't fill their phones with network software and stick their logo all over it like the other networks do. At the end of the day, o2 have become the UK's leading network for a very good reason. I'm on an online tariff, by the way. Much better value than the highstreet.

nice but looks like 4 yrs old Samsung C100 rip-off...
extremely hard to open backpanel, I would think that some nervous users will harm display when trying to insert sim.
what I especially like is the way they have done the function keys...

Just saw it bahrain today !!! BD 155...just a bit to expensive considering it has no camera for video calls !!Oh yes !! the build is not that good as well !!cos it was creating a kinds of sqeaking sounds when pressing the key pad !!

Oh, and on the talk of video calling and the Nokia 6500 Classic:
Why would this even be a consideration, if you can't even make video calls?
Or do people just enjoy paying double for half a service?

Thank you for further confirming my point - O2 is a flaming, horrible rip off which offers frustratingly horrendous account services (i.e. how it is impossible to get a to-the-minute usage balance - there is always a couple of days delay). This alone is a big enough reason to not go anywhere near them. I mean, how ridiculous is that?

I think this says it all, considering Vodafone are another operator who enjoy robbing their customers of money.
O2 have quickly established themselves as the UKs premier cellular robbers, surprisingly pipping Vodafone to the post of worst-value-operator. Orange are on a par with Vodafone, T-Mobile are competitively priced and Three are easily the best value (and always have been), but their major flaw is their range of phones...

Your battery is really not as sensitive as what is made out, especially the modern day ones. If you really want to do the full charge - to empty - to full charge, then it's pretty simple: don't plug it into your computer until the battery is either empty or full.
Or is it only me who finds such a thing the most obvious solution?...

Hello, I'm interested in purchasing this phone. The thing is, I never had experience with the ones charged via USB (I currently own a 6030) So, when you connect the 6500 Classic via USB to your PC, it automatically charges the battery as well? My question would be about whether this is good or not, actually, because as far as I know, it's best to completely empty the battery and then charge it to full again (for first three times, that's for sure, but probably for later as well, right?) So would this USB charge not harm the battery, it's stand-by time, or something, if it's going to be charged back and forth not to full, when connected to USB? Your answers and opinions would be very interesting and important. Thanks.

O2 is probably CURRENTLY offering the best service at the moment.
However, about the video calling:
Consumer Pay Monthly Terms:
From 1 January 2008, video calls will be excluded from the monthly allowance and charged 50p per minute. Video call charges start when the recipient accepts the call, even if the video call subsequently fails, therefore a failed call may be subject to a minimum charge. Video calling is handset and network dependant. Use of 3G is subject to 3G coverage

I am truly puzzled as to why Nokia chose to make the Battery cover out of freakin' plastic!!
What woulda been so hard just to make it out of anodized aluminum along with the rest of the phone?
I bought the 6500 Slide a few days ago, & let me say that this is THE most solid mobile phone ever built. It is a piece of mobile art.
Looks expensive, feels expensive, and the new S40 V.5 UI is great.
I recommend 100% it to anyone looking for a middle, to upper tier class phone. You will absolutely dig it.

I've just purchased this mobile in black through eBay and i love it. I had a lot of trouble taking the back cover off so got my friend to take it off for me, he struggled abit too but managed to take it off after 5 mins or so. You have to be careful while trying to slide it off because pressing too hard did do a little damage to the plastic back. The 6500 is very similar to the 6300 although there is no volume button on the side, no power button on top and the only way to charge it is through a usb cord. They supply you with two, one for the wall and one through the computer. i'm only using the computer usb to charge it up.
If you want it for the looks ( the same reason why i got it) then you'd love it but if you expect more features then i'd say just stick to the 6300. Both work exactly the same.
That's my opinion.
