Hello petruchio, l have copied contacts to phone and not sim card but still not able transfer to car. I also had problems with my previous Nokia 6230 and had the dealer download from this phone to car without a problem but they used some strange m-benz equipment to do it. Thanks for your help anyway!
Hi, I think this phone is the best ever,am going to get on as soon as its availble in Nigeria.
I live in England. This morning my 6500 was finally delivered, woohoo!
To the owner of the C-car try to copy all you contact on the phone and not on the SIM card. Do not also use groups, sometimes it blocks bluetooth data exchange.
Let us know if it do work
i saw this phone on Zurich Airport and I happened to love it. it was available there along with Swiss com Connection.
its a beautiful phone.. i might just get it
ixiw, Hi, thanks for your answer. FIrst of all, sorry, but sarcasm isn't so easily understood over such forum messages, I just commented so, because you didn't give any good reasons for "hating" this phone, which I now found out to be sarcasm. Sorry, anyway :-) Hell no, I'm not American, not even close. Not even English-speaking, so you can't "forgive me" :)
Just purchased nokia 6500 classic. Not such a great buy. digital clock on right side of screen when instandby mode is SOOOOO hard to read. Taking the sim card out is difficult as is the back cover. Jus bought new mercedes benz c-class which has integrated phone system. Cannot upload my phone book to car yet my previous nokia 6230 went through ok. Does anyone have any idea how to transfer phone book to my car? Any suggestions welcome.
Dude, what have networks to do with Nokia and this phone?! It's not the PHONE'S fault it's not available on your favorite carriers. That doesn't lessen the quality of this phone. Think before you write.
I hate this phone because it is still not available on T-Mobile or Three yet, and they are the only decent networks out there.
O2 are balls, Orange is a almost as bad and Vodafone seem to enjoy robbing their customers for all they are worth.
And I won't even bother mentioning the contracts offered by Mr Branson...
What do you doubt? Bizarre thing to say especially as you haven't used it yet....
I managed to source my SIM free 6500 phone, it will be with me in 24/48 hrs with a bit of luck!
Nice review, cheers.
"Cons: Sound coming out of the ear piece is very soft, however speakerphone is avaliable."
That'll be sorted in a firmware update. Same thing troubled the 6233 & 6300 on release.
I just got the phone... the phone is great, very good quality, solid etc. For me, 1gig memory is enough as I have another thin mp3 player to play music. Another down side that people see is the mere 2meg pixel camera, i think the quality of 1600x1200 is enough for take simple pic on the run (for me at least) So for me, this phone is ideal as i don't use that many functions, this phone offers more than enough. But most of all I chose this phone is because of the slimness = very easy to get out from tight jeans.
Subtle things (That was came with my phone):
Nokia claims each phone is unique, which is true, but the grain carving of the case can only be seen when you look at it very closely.
The phone also game with a thin piece of plastic that overed both the camera and the main screen, which i kept there for protection.
Firmware, PC suite 6.84, easy to use, but the most surprising aspect that, the 'drop and drag'(data storage) could be used (often seen in mp3 players)
Battery life: ok
TFT screen: Display is very vibrant + has a reflective aspect to it, which means it can be read clearly in the sunniest of days.
flash: blindingly bright, but when used for photo taken, the affect is small...
Cons: Sound coming out of the ear piece is very soft, however speakerphone is avaliable.
But it is a hassle to have to turn the speakerphone on everytime someone calls..
