the problem with Nokia taking so long is that they delayed the 6300 (especially the U.S. version) for-ever. Then, this phone gets announced at the same time (approx) as the Luna...which released long ago.
In short, I love Nokia...but they wait sooooo long to release their good phones that other manufacturers can lap them during the period from announcement to release.

They are taking their time with it because it is their first ever sub 10mm slim-phone and they want to get the marketing right.
Motorola have their atrocious slim phones, SE have a sub 10mm as do Samsumg. This is Nokia's first to compete in this particular market.
Hence, they want to get it right and you don't get things right by rushing them out. It will be available late September/early October. If you have waited this long, what the hell is another 4 weeks?

look forward the mobile. I agree the previous someone's post. camera and MP3 function just for fun, for sometime, it will be used. Never expect a mobile can take a good enough photo, in most time, it's only for record and remind something. 2MP or 3MP only mean a little better, even can't compare my old 2MP DC before 7 years.
what I only expect is the battery can hold longer, it's a tool, so the basic function is the most important.

To my3p:
The storage capacity for 1GB? DO you mean: "How many songs can I fit onto this device?"
In which case, that is about 240 songs (about 20-24 albums). Obviously if you have photos, games, apps, etc installed then the amount of music stored on the memory will be drastically reduced.
In terms of internal memory (which is what it is), 1GB is "quite a lot". But in terms of general storage, 1GB is not a lot of memory. However, I like to use my phone as a phone - not some technology jacking-off toy - so I don't really care what it does so long as it operates perfectly as a phone. If I want music, I'll get an MP3 player. Good photos, a decent digital camera. Good games, a games console... There are far, far too many girlfreindless geeks on this planet right now...
TO 4@89:
Clearly you cannot read. As has been stated, this phone will retail in the UK for around £240. In Europe for around 385 EURO. And in the US for around $480. The 6500 series is being pitched as a "mid-range" phone, hence its "mid-range" price tag. It should almost certainly be available free on contract on its release.
The 6500 Classic is cheaper than the Slide since the Slide if more feature packed (i.e. "better" camera; a misnomer really considered camera's on mobiles are inherintly sh!t anyway).
And no, the 6500 Classic does NOT have a CZ lens. CZ lenses are most likely marketing bullsh!t anyway - do they really make that much of a difference?... On a mobile camera? Compared to "standard" glass or plastic? Shall I remind everyone we are talking about a sub-standard 3MP cameraphone (which all of them are, regardless of brand)??? Not a £3000 telescopic SLR - don't make me laugh!...

Is this gonna be cheaper than the slide thanks to the worse camera? How much is this gonna be? And does this have a Carl Zeiss lens like the slide?
