VOLLEY45. Have you tried using your "Find new software wizard" on you pc. Had the same problem with a different nokia but the wizard found it via the cable ok & then it was sorted.

DOS. When i first got this phone the slide felt lose & it took some time getting used to it but now that loseness has gone & its fine. Try using for a while & see if it tightens up like mine did.

Got it a few hours ago and it's amazing. Very simple to use with a great camera. Only problem so far is when the phone is slid out and I press down on the bottom of the top part that slides up I can feel that it is a little lifted off of the bottom section, but only right at the bottom just above the keypad.
Is that how it's supposed to be?

my nokia 6500 slide is having issues tryin to connect to my pc. The pc suite has bein removed & downloaded & still says its not bein able to support it & doesnt show its connected via, usb or bluetooth, i looked @ nokia.com & im not the only one havin issues so if you can assist I would apprecicate it, I honestly have tried it all, im losin my mind. I would like to use this connection instead of using my 2gb micro card for xer;ing memory & data

for kenny you need to go to nokia site for the settings go to help and support then you see get wap and mms settings it says then pick phone from there follow simple steps

i love this phone, as with all nokia's it's simple to use, and very striaght forward, the camera is very good, a much needed upgrade from my old 6233.

My girlfriend got one of these phones sim free from play.com and put her old 02 sim in it, but when she tries to connect to the internet it comes up with the following message "subscribe to packet data first" any ideas why this is?

James. Make sure you have the lastest version of p c suite on your pc. When you connect the lead to the phone & pc you have have a choice on you phone, i also select pc suite. The first time you connect your pc should pick up your phone & it will take about 3 mins to set up before saying the phone is ready to use. Always make sure when you disconnect you use your "remove software safely" opion in your pc so there is no problems when you want to use again.

Lee. my battery last about 3-4 days but thats just with calls & texting.
The screen is sealed.

Lee. This phone is so much better than the e65. You can set the lock on the phone by setting a time so it will look when still open or after that time when you close the slide down.
I have not had any problems with lagging or cutting of calls.
It is much better built than the e65 with a better camera as well.
I also had a e65 but gave it to my husband cause of the problems you have stated, i am very pleased with this phone.
The only problem i have had is the delay to connect when you open the slide, it takes about 5 seconds before it connects to the call. I have now taken off the automatic connect when sliding open & just press the answer middle button instead.

does the nokia 6500 slider have problems with hanging up phones calls when it wants to like the E65 i have alot of time had the phone loss the call is this the case with the 6500 ??? as i have read a couple of reviews saying its a bad phone to keep hold of the line ????
also is it better built than the e65, does it have a seald screen unlike the e65
what about the slider does it lock the phone and unlock with the slider and does it have a time limit to lock the phone to if you dont use the slider ????
is the battery better than the e65 ??

I saw a 6500s in a Optus store today. Ask how much for it out-right with out a countract. AU$650, what a rip off. I can get it from Singtel in Singapore SG$418. (don't for get currecy conversion too)

And also how to configure my business card because I didn't find it.
