I just picked up a 6500 slide and I have to say: This is a really sweet phone! Looks great; S40 has really closed the gap to S60, it seems more stable and quicker; and it feels like the best built phone I have ever held. However, time will have to tell how this later point plays out.

will the 6500 slide sync with outlook as easily as the N Series? From what I can tell it doesn't run on Symbian, so this might make it harder? I'm coming from an N73, but would enjoy something slimmer (with more reliable software)

What about the video quality, especially in low light. Is it choppy or noisy ?

You cant download movies to the phone with the TV out cable. It is only for viewing movies, pics, or other files to the TV, when you hook it up with the cables.
You have to transfer movies to the memory card with the USB cable.
When you hook up your USB cable, it'll give you 3 options on what you wanna do. Scroll down to the last one, it is called "data transfer"
Make sure you enable the memory card option on your phone as well. Then click on the "start" bar on your PC. Go to "my computer" & the Slide should show up as a removable device.
Click on the "removable device" and all the folders should open up.
You should then be able to drag 'n' drop the files to the appropriate folder.

I think the colour on the screen & menu's is excellent. Remember the 6500 classic only has a 2mg pixel camera compared to this having a 3.15mg pixel.

N91 has the s60 series which is well known for being slow on opening, starting up etc. This has the s40 series which is alot quicker. I have just give my husband my E65 which has a s60 cause the time it took to open the files was driving me made, i recieved this phone 2 days ago & its alot lot quicker when using it.

I wanted to buy the 6500 slide, but then I saw a direct compare to the 6500 classic.
Just watch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4e_GzeB8Lk
The video is in italian so I didn't understad anything, but look at the displays, they are both 16million colors, but the 6500 slide display looks real bad. Could somebody tell if they are using the same or different background colors, cause the 6500 slide display doesen't look as sharp and smooth as the 6500 classic display. Either way, if they are using different background colors, look at the menu shortcuts, they are the same color on both displays, but they look much better on the classic.

Have Nokia 6280 with Java progs works well. Replaced with 6500 slide on basis compatible op sys.Fast operation is important to me. Cannot get Java progs or applications to work. Currently BIG list of queries with Nokia and provider. Needless to say no response yet.

Hook up your 6500 with the USB cable to your USB port on your PC.
It will show up as "6500 Slide". There will be folders, such as, Images, Video, Music, etc.
Then just drag 'n' drop the desired file to the appropriate folder.
It is very easy to do.
