GPS navigation is possible using an external bluetooth GPS module such as Nokia LD-3W together with software from www.nav4all.com, www.wayfinder.com or www.telmap.com. This software is Java based, so they work on most S40 phones.

BTW...Phone Maniac
No..this phone is NOT GPS supported. In fact none of Nokia's S40 can use the GPS module.
I do hope they release a S40 Slide that can use GPS though. That would be freakin' sweet.

Absolutely you can. I use just the regular AOL voice "you got mail" as my SMS tone.
You can choose what ever you want for SMS tones & ringtones that you have downloaded from your PC to the memory card.
I am telling you guys, this phone does it all!!
It is so easy to use. The new S40 V.5 is awesome. The themes are simple to install, and the easiest way to transfer data such as ringtones, themes, videos, is to just hook it up via the USB cable to your PC.
It then shows up as "6500 Slide"...Then just drag 'n' drop the files to whichever folder you want.
It is on Ebay right now for less than $400.00 shipped!!
I paid $530.00 just 10 days ago. The price just keeps coming down. It doesn't mean it isn't a great phone, it just means that the phone should be selling for that amount.

Hey MobileSlider,
Thanks alot for the excellent review that you did on Mobile-review.com, it's really great. Thanks alot for taking the time to do the review.
Please can you help me as it is a very long time since I've had a nokia phone- Are you able to use music that you've downloaded onto the memory card as message tones? In other words, can you personalise message tones to use your own choice of music?
Thank you very much in advance for your help. You sure do know alot about mobile phones.

It isn't available in Black anywhere that I know of.
It may even be region specific, but that doesn't mean we won't be able to buy it once it does become available in Black.

I've had the 6500 slide for a week now, and I must say I'm very satisfied. Several short comings of S40 3rd ed. is improved in 5th ed. Especially the music player and radio. Now it's as good as standalone mp3 players. The sound quality is awesome and crystal clear. No background fuzz like the 6233 has.
The display is sharp and bright. Don't know why some says it's a bit dark.
I've only two things to complain about so far: The autofocus is really slow, and when using the slider to answer a call it takes too long time (3-4 seconds) before it's "picked up", so I'm using the green button to answer instead.
