Yup looks like a great S40 phone coming up soon. If you find the "color" dull, go Gmask the bugger. I think this is a no frills Business phone without the smart part.

Nokia 6500 slide has everything that I've ever wanted in a mid range phone. The only con about it is the weight and the dull colors, but other than that, it's awesome!BTW, when is this going to be release in america?

It is a sad phone with features that is not new to us. I will not buy this kinda phone. Color is dull,design looks boring and main key features are so typical.

Nice phone, but WHATS WITH THE DULL COLOUR??? Why is it so challenging for Nokia to make this phone in more then one colour? It would look great in red!!!

Meanwhile, I may go with E65 just coz it comes in RED!!!!

Basically a slimmer N80 with a screen which is slightly smaller, but which is a significantly lower - (QVGA compared to 352x416 pixels) resolution, but lacking some of the smartphone features of the N80, notably its S60 software and along with it, the connectivity software necessary for wifi on nokia devices. it seems a more attractive solution though,since the N80 although having a huge feature list, didn't seem to excel at any one thing in particular, except perhaps web browsing, but rather seemeed to be fairly good [for a phone[ at many things, but without really hitting any of them on the head. Also the camera on the n80 was bad in low light and perhaps as a side effect of running s60v3, slow to reposnd, but my early impression of the one here is more positive

I'm going to do what I've always done:
When the 6230i was out, I bought Nokia 6230. When 6233 was released, I bought 6230i. Now that 6500 slide has been announced, I'm going to buy Nokia 6233.

I guess in two years I will have 6500 slide in my hands. It looks like a TRULY AMAZING phone, but I need price to drop.

Nokia should be Making More S40 Phone's then N-Series S40 One's are Most Popular

6500Slide is based on series40 5th edition
and can capture vdo in H.264/AVC format.
GSMArena please correct that.

this phone is stunning! never seen such an excellent phone excluding the n-series.

nothing special, another phone by npokia which was released a hundred years ago as N80 and now they did a litle fece lift thats all, the 6500 classic is, for me, somehow cooler :)

Too bad the phone has a QCIF videocall camera. If is was CIF, I probably would have bought it.
