Vimal:
All i can say is that i had a similar experiance with my 6230..when i bought it initially..I called Nokia helpline a number of times..tried at the Nokia Care centres in Hyderabad & Chennai..then after a whole month of struggling i was finally able to get it rectified..& believe me Nokia does rectify problems with their firmware upgrades..I was happy with the end result..I feel u cant blame the company for gettin things like this in the market..after all the competition is as such..& what i have noticed is..the earlier versions of most recent mobiles with a high functionality element have suffered with similar issues[ ex: Samsung D500,SE K750i,etc]...So all the companies are takin us for a free ride then or may it is just that there is this risk with how the market is evolvin right now..

My Friends at GSMARENA
You All will be surprised to know that here in Delhi, Nokia Care has returned back my defective 6681 on the ground that the firmware problem can not be solved without the upgraded software version,.Which will take about two months. So friends pl tell me what should I do with this phone which does not allow me to call from Pnone book and from log.Donot you all think that nokia has taken all ,who buy their new releases, for a ride.
Pl advise.

Mr. xyz
But then doesnot it means that NOKIA is taking the persons ,who buy their new phones, for a ride.
Nokia must understand that in the long run these types of trade practices will discourage people to buy nokia at least when the phone is introduced in the market.
Such reluctance on the part of buyers will eventually tell its effect in the Market share as well as its profitabilty.

When you buy phones that have just been released... there is sure to have some firmware problems...NOKIA only took the phone's firmware as a beta and time will only tell when NOKIA will release newer firmwares...

Further the images when snapped were muddy and distorted. However when searched and seen in gallery these were good.strange?May I ask NOIA when the r& d work is not complete ,the software is not proper ,then why set is released in the market. To fool people?

First impression was very good which turned sour when I could not make calls by selecting from log and /or by selecting from phone book. However i am able to call by punching numbers again. On contacting Nokia I was told that it is firmware problem >which will be reloaded again.RIDICLUS.Why cannot they release the phone after full testing. After making investment One wants to enjoy and use it,whereas in my case I am without phone despite having paid heavily for no fault of me.

Alias: X

I had the same thing with 1 day battery life. I had the BT on all the time, and I was using the Active Standby Screen. After I shut them down the battery life has been better.

As a hint: In a S60 phone such as N6681, the applications stay "on" (Active) if u turn them off by pressing the RED PHONE button. U will C how many apps u have on by pressing the Blue Menu key (also known as the Symbian key) down for a short moment. It will show u all the software which is left on. U can shut em' down by pressing the C button on the highlighted logo which apears to the upper left corner. 4 more 411 plz read the manual, specially those who r new to S60 and Symbian platforms.

Mr. me

The problem is in the Memcard. I am a fraid u will fave to format the card, it is a common LAG which accures in the Nokia 64mb mobile rs-mmc cards. I had to format the memcard also. After that I haven't had any problems losing data.

To save the mp3 to the memcard u have to open it first, and then press STOP. Then take options and SAVE. That's how u save it to the memcard when transferring "as a file" via. BT. After u have saved the mp3 to the memcard it will show in the ringtone archives, and only after saving u can set it as a ringtone.

PS.remember to erase it from the messages after saving, the mem is so limited in this phone.

why does nokia bring out this foon? I believe you can call this the no UMTS version of the 6680; which means u get an extra camera and 3g - on what is furthermore the exact same foon - for a few $ more..

Does anybody know if the price of the 6681 is going to drop when the N series will be on sale? Now it is about 509€ in Belgium I'm willing to pay up to 350€ for a phone but not more unless it is with GPS software. I think nokia is the best when it comes to connectivitie. The 6681 is just great I had it in my hands yesterday wow!
