This was my second phone. The navy roller was by far the best phone-navigator that days, so ease-to-use. An unbreakable phone, never had problems with the sliding system.
Movie trivia, this phone was NOT used in Matrix. This is the John Travolta used in SWORDFISH.

Please note everyone that this phone was NOT in the film, the martix. The phone in question was a 8110 with the same slide design of the 7110, where a button is pressed to automatically slide the front down. This phone was made for the film only and not available to buy. You can of course but either the 8110 or the 7110 as standard.

I've been using mine for about five years, until last month on the original battery. It had started to turn itself off occasionally though the scale indicated there should have been sufficient charge in the battery. A new battery fixed that, possibly because it is attached so much more firmly, after five years the original was quite loose. Wouldn't like to have to change to a new phone.

I've never had one but I find it as one of the most aesthetically pleasing phones ever made by any mobile phone manufacturer.

This is my first ever cellphone & it's a great one. Though it's big & heavy, but it's tough & reliable. I have been using it for (believe it or not) almost 7 years & no major issue encountered. Too bad many modern phones couldn't match its quality.

hey, excellent. i bought this phone when it first came out, off the back of a lorry, for a £170 and loved it cause it was in the Matrix. Excellent slide design, as easy to use as the previous nokia and i remember always swithcing the infrared on but not being able to use it cos' no one else had a infrared phone.
Gave it to my brother a little while later and it he lost it on the train on the way to London. Dumbass!

I've searched everywhere for a picture of this "slide button" on the nokia 7110 but I just can't find any... But it does exist, correct?

i've started using this phone after getting rid of a panasonic vs6 ans formerly a sonyericsson k608. no more fancy fones for me. at least not for a while. i am enjoying the 7110 in all its retro glory. i've just ordered a li-ion battery pack for it because the standard battery just won't cut it. i think i'll be sticking to this nokia phone at least for a while. it is a great phone and after 5 years in use it still works as intended with even better signal and voice volume than my former vs6 and k608 used to have. i won't be spending my cash on fancy fones. back to the basics it's what it is. :) all you 7110 users out there: respeKt! :)) cheery-o!
