os of symbian is good but must improve its technology by using android on futur nokia..
NobleScarlet, 24 May 20125 years from now, we will all be crying because of no more original battery replacements avail... moreWell, maybe just a feature pack here and there, but I don't think they even need to make a "better" Symbian with more pixel resolution display or whatever core because this is good enough.
Hmmm, I have an E51 and it's still working on its first battery, no idea how old it is 'cos I got an used one but probably at least 3-4 years. Before that I had a 5-6 year old Motorola with its original battery, too bad the flex cable died after a few million open/closings. :-) I guess it's a matter of luck, but a little maintenance seems to help. :-) There are still batteries around on eBay, though I got one (not original) for my mother's phone and it lasted half a year. For $3 it was alright, though. Japod seems to have some good reputation, so I hope they'll have something when the time comes. This BV-4D battery is also used in N9, N9 is quite popular in China, Chinese know how to replicate stuff, so... :-)
advice, 24 May 2012after the death of symbian i wish that nokia puts android os in this phone.Very true, Nokia and Android would be the ultimate combination because i'm looking for a reason to buy a Nokia phone again, but Symbian is just too basic and the world has voted along with me which is why Symbian is being killed off, and WP7 is better but only a tiny App selection, but i doubt Nokia will turn to Android so i guess they just gonna keep losing money and market share while less and less people buy their phones.
brynn, 23 May 2012I hope so i think some wires have got crossed.. To person below i have my 6630 still and wo... moreYeah i'm just saying that Nokia batteries aren't as good as people assume and got my Japod battery for just over a third the price of original and has higher capacity and works just as well, but Nokia were just getting a huge profit margin on those batteries.
If you want to see just how bad Symbian FWs used to be just use N95, N73 or maybe more around that time and fill the memory card with hundreds of MP3s, Videos and just any small files really, what i had was all the Apps and Games stored in a folder to install anytime i need and probably had a few thousand little files altogether, then after you've done that just watch how long the battery lasts, sometimes overnight it went from full charge to 1 bar and i've tried the same thing on Android since and has no effect, so there's something about Nokia or Symbian that gets completely messed up when you have too many files on card.

To person below i have my 6630 still and working fine ,on second battery tho or third cant remember had it that long.
NobleScarlet, 23 May 20125 years from now, we will all be crying because of no more original battery replacements avail... moreIf anyone's looking for a decent new battery get a Japod battery because i got one for my N95 and has a measured 1020mah which is 70mah more than original and used it for 1 and a half years and is still holding over about 850mah, where my original battery got down to just over 700mah over about the same time.
wilkotick, 23 May 2012Why does everyone harp on about dualcore technology in phones, Nokia as a multi national compa... moreI've had a lot of Symbians and just always found they were always near 2 years behind what the competition were doing with processor and ram and it spoiled the phone if you really want to use it as a Smartphone, i mean new ones are better but Symbian is still a bit rubbish as a Smartphone because of phone performance and complete lack of Apps.
NobleScarlet, 23 May 20125 years from now, we will all be crying because of no more original battery replacements avail... moreI am not saying dont buy,why is this news(rumour) coming now?..at launch..think twice..I have waiting for this.we have to wait and see if they comment the ruour(news).I have already ordered one with a carrier and no chance in cancelling and will maybe get next week.Had been moore fun if I had the feeling they support it 100%
MdN, 23 May 2012Exactly. Symbian is good as it is, and 5 years from now it will still be a decent phone. I don... more5 years from now, we will all be crying because of no more original battery replacements available for this.
Why? Because Nokia is the only mobile phone company I know that manufactures very durable phones. I had the n73 since the year it was released, and it is still alive and kicking (though I want to cry for this because of no more original battery replacement).
Also with the cancellation of "Symbian Carla", I hope its cancellation will be because the next update will be "Nokia Carla", as it looks like according to the rumors that the future updates will be more of a combination of Symbian+Qt+Meego. Surely you can't call it "QtSymbianMeego Carla". Just hopeful wishing! :)
Yup., The Nokia Pureview 808 is the LAST symbian device flagship nokia gonna make.
So make sure u've got one :-) its the only and last phone which gonna last a full day with a single charge hhhhahahaaaa
And be sure that its camera will be compared with all the upcoming 5yrs phones. it will be the (standard) which all companies will compare their mobile camera's with ;)
camera is magical but nokia should check the hardware properly so that there shouldnt be pullbacks like n8 and others
snow_speeder, 23 May 2012Is this the end of symbian? can someone make me understand why there are news (rumors) that no... moreelop is going to finish symbian ! Fp1 and fp2 r last updates ! Goodbye nokia !
Sea-Breeze, 23 May 2012even if they cancelled carla or whatever the name ... the phone fulfills my needs with its cur... moreExactly. Symbian is good as it is, and 5 years from now it will still be a decent phone. I don't see Symbian users crying for updates and unlocked bootloaders like Android users do all the time.
Is this the end of symbian? can someone make me understand why there are news (rumors) that nokia has canceled all plans for Carla or Donna? will Symbian ever support HD (720p) screens? what is the future of Symbian? where is it going and what are we expecting as consumers? are we waiting for Carla and Donna? there's so much news on lumia, so much support but on Symbian? is it dying? i love the 808 pure view, and for sure il buy it.. but what is Nokia doing with Symbian?
even if they cancelled carla or whatever the name ... the phone fulfills my needs with its current software.., so am getting it
When u buy a phone think of what it gives u at the current time not with future updates.
end of statement !
after the death of symbian i wish that nokia puts android os in this phone.
and now they cancelled the nokia carla and said that the last symbian update is nokia belle fp2
i was going to wait and buy this phone but now what should i do , i think its time to go to another brand since nokia doesnt care anymore about us
