well its like the N8 was an awesome phone. let down by the OS. the cpu speed. and well a few other things. but as a camera phone. best on the market.

as will this be. but just a shame its not a windows phone. but the phone was developed a few years ago. so its was in symbian times hence. symbian on it. shame but true.

I already pre-ordered mine. And guess what? No additional cost. Price? The official price when it will be released. Which means that the pre-order price is the same as the regular price. Payment upon claiming the item. Sweet! So... sweet! :)

If u look at where technology has come to wher it is today u would see that it has come from big to small. And please nokia picture qaulity has always been the best so dnt u tink that they would improve rather then shooting themself in the foot.

> In reply to gagatov @ 2012-04-08 15:10 from pjee - click to readBut a 38/34MP photo can have its own advantages, especially when you decide that you need a high-res segment of it later on, or if you need a specific size of photo for desktop publishing, you can capture a full-res photo with this, then resample it yourself later on. Although like you said, details will get lost when it goes to the printer, using a 38/34MP photo will cause the printer to use a higher DPI, therefore having a higher quality output, especially on desktop publishing.

I definitely won't call it a "market trick" because it is real, and that term has negative connotations.

And besides, for those quality-freaks (*ehem* a little) when it comes to photos, a bigger resolution is always better, as long as the sensor can capture a decent photo at that resolution.

This a good alternative for a DSLR. Every DSLR owner would agree that they won't be carrying a DSLR every time they leave their house/studio. So, having this in your pocket as an alternative will ensure that they will have a good camera when a picture-perfect or a good photo opportunity presents itself, this most especially applies to photo enthusiasts. :)

But that is only the sensor. The actual images are 34 and 38MP.

I've said for years that I wouldn't buy a digital camera because a phone that could match them would come out soon. Thus I've never owned one. That day could have been here, too bad the resolution is so low, that's the only thing keeping me from buying this phone. I wouldn't mind getting a symbian phone again for the first time in years if it hadn't been for that. The OS is ok afaik, I could live with it a couple of years ago, and I 've heard good things about Belle. There are plenty of hacks and the custom rom scene is pretty active. Symbian will fly on that hardware, and if the camera is as good as promised, this could be a great phone.

> In reply to NobleScarlet @ 2012-04-08 06:44 from th6x - click to readYes, you are right. Of course I understand that we talk about the sensor resolution, considering 41 MP. And I should correct myself, I was not right. Generally the capturing carrier (either photographic film or CCD / CMOS sensor) should have resolution higher or at least equal to that of the lens. So anyway 41MP is better than 3MP. It is obvious - the same object may be represented in more details, and we obtain a better final product. But still, the lens in mobile can never compete with lenses for film or digital cameras, the general and only purpose of which is photography. The size of the lens determines a lot of parameters influencing the quality of the image, and the smallest it is the more artifacts one will obtain in his picture (like aberrations and defocused image at the corners and margins of a photo). I don't think the photos taken with mobile cameras are expected to be used in desktop publishing and printing of large posters, in which high resolutions are required, while in commonly used printed photo formats the difference between the pictures taken with 41MP, 12MP or 5MP is invisible. The details will be useless, since even printer will lose them. Thus, for mobile phone that huge sensors look just ridiculuous and are nothing else but a market trick. But still I think Nokia did a great job and photos from these class of their phones (like N8) are amazing and may successfully compete with compact digital cameras.

I think that the battery power will be insufficient cox its only 1400 Mah while the features appear powerful.........

Is that a typo or is it really a 41 MP Camera?

I own an N8, I am very happy with Belle. Running Belle on the 808 CPU should make it go like the clappers, plus all the dedicated hardware.. I want one. PS I also own a Samsung Galaxy SII the best thing about it is a decent web browser "Dolphin".. if I could get that on the 808 it would be perfect. I actually use my N8 more than the SII, I find Belle to be very intuitive and it dose the basic thing better .. its a better phone, better at sms, better map software, better camera, better sound quality, better sunlight visibility, better quality build... I can go on listing things for a while.
