no matter how many thousand pixel does the camera generate, it will never match up to a dslr, even nikon d60 can produce much higher quality image than any smartphone you can find

hm...i see something big is coming, and 41MP is definitely just the begining. If the processing power is there for 41MP without causing annoying delays, power shortage and storage issue (10MB each?), why not?
Something evolving at the States is the launch of lightfield camera (i know, they are not the first) squeezing 11megablips (they call it megarays, whatever...) of lights and turn it into HD-sized post-refocusable photo.
And, they have mentioned they are looking for partnership, sometime last year.
If this two stories click, i think it will be pretty interesting.

A really great "concept". If I were to bring this to the the beach or trekking for great photos, it should be rugged and waterproof. I think that would be a great niche. It's quite hard to do that with a delicate device with 1200mAh. believe me. I tried that with my n8. and please why would I buy a phone with an OS that's about to be scrapped? Imagine a phone that you could bring anywhere, capture everything in vivid HD and that can be used to upload your social networks in 4G. Minus the bulk it should be thin and sleek. I can dream can't I?

People are less likely to bring point and shoot cameras if they have a capable smartphone. The average digital camera has about 10-16MP - a lot higher compared to what smartphones offer. Some people are actually serious in imaging with their phones. That is why Nokia made the Nokia 808.
