AnonD-44031, 08 Apr 2012Just some clarifications: It is actually the sensor that captures the 41 megapixels. Lens qua... moreYes, you are right. Of course I understand that we talk about the sensor resolution, considering 41 MP. And I should correct myself, I was not right. Generally the capturing carrier (either photographic film or CCD / CMOS sensor) should have resolution higher or at least equal to that of the lens. So anyway 41MP is better than 3MP. It is obvious - the same object may be represented in more details, and we obtain a better final product. But still, the lens in mobile can never compete with lenses for film or digital cameras, the general and only purpose of which is photography. The size of the lens determines a lot of parameters influencing the quality of the image, and the smallest it is the more artifacts one will obtain in his picture (like aberrations and defocused image at the corners and margins of a photo). I don't think the photos taken with mobile cameras are expected to be used in desktop publishing and printing of large posters, in which high resolutions are required, while in commonly used printed photo formats the difference between the pictures taken with 41MP, 12MP or 5MP is invisible. The details will be useless, since even printer will lose them. Thus, for mobile phone that huge sensors look just ridiculuous and are nothing else but a market trick. But still I think Nokia did a great job and photos from these class of their phones (like N8) are amazing and may successfully compete with compact digital cameras.
I think that the battery power will be insufficient cox its only 1400 Mah while the features appear powerful.........
Is that a typo or is it really a 41 MP Camera?
I own an N8, I am very happy with Belle. Running Belle on the 808 CPU should make it go like the clappers, plus all the dedicated hardware.. I want one. PS I also own a Samsung Galaxy SII the best thing about it is a decent web browser "Dolphin".. if I could get that on the 808 it would be perfect. I actually use my N8 more than the SII, I find Belle to be very intuitive and it dose the basic thing better .. its a better phone, better at sms, better map software, better camera, better sound quality, better sunlight visibility, better quality build... I can go on listing things for a while.
beautiful pics

41mb 1080p@30fps is just plain rubbish.
One does not simply record a 1080p video as small as 41mb.

It is actually the sensor that captures the 41 megapixels. Lens quality is the first thing that determines how good a camera gathers light details. A good lens that gathers light details very well makes sure that the sensor receives a good image. Check out the sample photos. Judge them yourself.
my question is... Out of all the apps thats on android or mac, which ones do you use? And do you use all of them... at the same time? No? Thats what i thought. Most people choose a phone for one or two particular features. For instance, i love taking pictures(yes i have a dslr but it wont fit in my pocket). Now why would i get a phone that has a lighting speed processor but a 3.15mp camera? 3.15 aint bad, but wouldnt you choose a 12mp(what more 41mp) over a lousy 3.15?.
Wow, nokia havent came out any super amolet phone ... tsk tsk tsk shame on u nokia xD

Wow, the camera specifications look just brilliant. I am curious when should we expect the interchangeable lense (or SLR) cameraphone from Nokia? ;-) But seriously, I would like to believe that the resolution of that small lenses used in mobile phones may at least somehow comply with that high resolution matrixes. 41 MP - reasonably impressive. But if the resolution of the lense is low, the quality of the image will still lack, whatever if the matrix is 41MP, 12 MP or those unbeliveably small 3.1 MP. The high resolutions of matrixes in that case just do not make any sense and are just waste of material and money. However, N8 is for sure a genius phone, especially its incredible camera. I hope and wish Nokia 808 PureView to follow and improve the success of its predecessor :-) Good luck :)
