Well no wonder nokia 8800 is a manly Phone with those gr8 looks but just look at the features. It doesn't avan has a megapixel camera in it and its weight (in 1 month u could increase 1 inch of ur biseps if u carry this phone)and because of the titanium body due to static electricity dust sticks on it too often so it really looks dirty.its price is higher thn the sky.if u ppl want my honest advice dont go for this phone coz i really regret after buying this kind of phone.Thnx GOD now i've sold tht out and right now i m using an N70 which certainly is a universal fighter from nokia.there r other cool looking phones too from other manufacturers which r worth for their price. So the bottom line is
"DONT GO FOR A NOKIA 8800"
I work in the gsm industry too and I had no problems with the 8800 if something is wrong u flash the phone and it's ok!Just for the record if u have some major problems with it nokia changes the phone with a new one(if it's scrached or lcd broken they won't change it ,it's u'r fault not nokia's fault!)So u can have problems like with every other phone from every company!
i work in the phone industry and let me tell you that the nokia 8800 absoulutly shocking. every 8800 that we have sold have come back, all with the same problems of freezing, switching off, and if you want customer service from nokia, ha! thats even worse than the phone itself. dont believe that they will replace it if the screen is scratched cause they wont. nokia are a great phone with the exception of the 8800.
I just bought the 8800 it is an excelent phone with great looks!Don't need more from a phone!I had the K750i but don't need so manny features u get bored after the first 2 weeks!
the looks of the fone excellent, but features r very poor to my expectations from nokia. i have paid £750 for this piece of metal which is no worth to me.
hi really, if your 8800 is scratched will the replace it because i heard scratch resistance and scrath proof are 2 totally different things so thats a question? please could anyone get bak to me on that one. also which phone is better nokia 8800 or samsung d600. again please coul you reply via email.
If you scratch your phone just call Nokia and they will replace it for you. It suppost to be scratch resistance.
Is there any possible the display glass to be changed? Because i scratched mine :x PLEASE ANSWER! :O
I used to like the look of this phone...
Then I realised that I was only judging it by appearance.
Nokia should be ashamed of themselves, producing such an unreliable yet very expensive phone.
Anyone who wishes to have themselves judged by the appearance of their phone really ought to stop being so sad!!
All these comments about the stylishness of the phone excusing the poor functionality are a joke. If all Nokia phones were like this they would have gone bust years ago.
If any potential 8800 buyers would like me to help them burn their money I will gladly help!!
well guyz wat i believe iz dat all those netwrks who r not offering it free say dat dis phone is a crappy 1 but dun worii sum new companies r going 2 cum up wid dealz dat will offer it 4 free...!!!!!!!!
i work for o2 and my advise is to keep well clear of this phone, crap phone in a fancy case thats what its known as.£450.......it isnt worth a quarter of that!!!
Guyz let me tell you one thing about this phone is that IT SUCKS. You wanna know why ok No worries.. Firstly this phone is very heavy just because of that Titanium Steel Casing and it catches dust instantly so you end up cleaning it after every 5 minutes which is a waste of time. It has not even got a MegaPixel camera. Hard to use the keypads. Well This is what i have known and my personal Opinion about this Crappy Phone.
I do agree that it has got a very good design with that beautiful smooth slide action but just because of that Steel body its price is high. So I recommend to go for Another phoe which is Cost effective.
Ok I read all kinds of comments, opinions about the nokia 8800. Nowadays, I think people tends to look for a cell phone that has a lot of features on it. I would say I will still buy this phone coz cell phone to me is for talking and reading text messaging only and maybe a few good games and the looks is a must! Too many freaking bull$h!t comments people trying to pull this phone down from its throne, but it will not happen for this phone is still by so far the most gorgeous phone ever built on this planet.
Yeah there's a lot of phone that offers a lot of features and even higher resolutions and megapixels, but most of us have to admit that we only have 24hrs a day most of our hours we work and we watch tv,eat,$hit doing chaka chaka, dirty sanchez etc. with our partner lol! So would most of you have time to play with your cell phone that has tons of features on it? Lets get real! You don't have the time! But most of us have time to talk, read text messages etc. The nokia 8800 has these simple features thats why I got it!
And for my last comment: I can't wait to see those heads turn once I started using my 8800 in public!
hi peeps. iv had the nokia 8800 for just over 2 mnths nw and it is really cheesing me off. for starters iv had it software upgraded by carphone warehouse and because it keeps on switching off and on by itself (freaky). now that its bin upgraded guess whats happnd nw it still switches off, when i try calling someone (this happens occasionally) i cant even hear the dialling tone u no 'tring tring' and then it goes off. the other crap thing is when i need to take out one battery to put da uda spare battry in all my settings are gone (my themes) so i need to set my theme again and again and again. this phone its a badboy phone but its a shame what its doing. pls cud n e 1 email me if they no and possible solutions. cheers
I really dot know y ppl find it very difficult except the fact that this is one of the most good lookinf phones in the market now. There are several types of phone buyers. Some who goes for a basic easy to carry day to day phone and others who are keen on the phones options, but dont also forget there are some other people who would forgoe every thing of the above just to own a phone which is unique and high class. PPl who can afford a 8800 surely can afford a digital camera and i pod nanos so they need not want those included in phones.
to all the 8800 owners who justify the expense of this phone by stating that it is a high end and exclusive phone used by 'high end' people and compare it to expensive watches, i would say this: it is still ONLY a phone, a piece of technology which by its nature has a short shelf life.-an expensive watch,ie Omega or Rolex- these are timeless precision watches which will give over 30 years service.your GBP£600/usd£1200 MOBILE PHONE! will only stay exclusive for a short time until the mobile phone companies offer discounts and cheap deals to purchase this phone.you can now purchase this phone for GBP £120 with a new airtime agreement in the UK which isnt at all 'exclusive' so over the coming months, anyone will be able to purchase this phone. does this phone still look good value then? i think not. particularly when you take into account its poor specification and performance.
someone else on this board said he had to keep charging his 8800 more than other phones, but that was okay as a V12 rolls royce owner has to fill his car with fuel more often than the owner of a standard sedan.
this maybe so, however a V12 rolls royce offers loads more performance and luxury features compared to a normal car.
the 8800 doesnt offer this advantage over 'normal' phones, with the exception of a metal finish and a sliding screen.
i dont think this really justifies the outrageous price.
i choose not to purchase this phone not cos i cant afford it, rather because it offers poor value for money. remember the motorola V3 started life as a premium phone but now everyone owns one and you can by them in a supermarket on pre-pay !
not worth paying £700 for ....
Hi guys. Does anyone knows if it's possible display protector of nokia 8800 to be changed (see on the picture of what i'm talking about)? Because i have scratched it somewhere :o I had the same problem with my old 7200 :x
Thanks for all answers in advance!
The latest version would be 3.78v for both 8800 and 8801.Just call nokia and they will give you a replacement.
