i got this phone just yest and it is amazing! the screen is work of art. the only thing i couldn't figure is how to use living wallpapers and animation when phone rings -- like in promo video there is a theme with dancing girl. if anyone can help! thanks!

always had the 8800 series phones cant beat the design and looks. Abit heavy than the other 8800 series.

I had all 8800ds; first one, Siroco, and now Arte. Arte is my favorite! Battery is a lot better then in previos vertions. Good built quality, but black back dose not feel as solid as should. And easy to scrach. Since i keep it in the case(supplied)scraches are not likely to happen. Case is so good, and compact!!! that i would not consider buying another case for it (i did for previos models thou). One thing i hate- the new usb plug! why on erth you d invent new type of plug?? i need to get car charger again, and if i am charging it i cant use wired headset while driving (i like wired) so now i am limited to BT. And have to buy new wired headset(supplyed with previos 8800). Any way i wont be able to use it wile charging!
But i like this phone any way! and would not swap it for two N96's!!!!!!!

If the clock doesn't appear or the ringtone doesn't cancel with the gesture control try going into settings and check that the senser option is on, that should sort it!

I heard the power key may cause accidental presses due to located top. This can cause phone turn-offs or missing calls. Have u ever faced such a problem like tt.

very nice phone i bought it since 10 day ,but i had a problem with the phone when i chack it the analog clock dosnt appear.
and when i turn it up said down the ringtone dosnt silnt
the option is on

This fone is a " premium " handset. Its not as said before for people who use their handsets for music or gaming.
Its price reflects the market Nokia intends this fone for.
If you have to ask the price of the fone then its not for you !
You either love or hate the 8 series.
Pro's and Con's are really down to personal taste.

Absolutely feels great holding this phone!....nothing like it, not even those Vertu!
Excellent hardware but software of Nokia phones sucks!!!
Loud sound & top quality handsfree speaker phone is a Nokia advantage.

To the people below me who asked
Questions-
aren't the 8800's the same every year just a different cover?
and does it work well with just the tri band, instead of quad band?
Answer-
No they are completely differant everytime they introduce a new 8800 series, te first one was titanium and a terrible screen...the arte 8800 is 16million color screen, bigger screen, scratch reistant glass, accelerometer and much more...hopefully that will show you that nokia steps it up everytime.
Yes it is true that tri band doesnt work as well as a quad band, but i have a arte on at&t and i get service everywhere, i get service in some places where my blackberry curve didnt, so dont worry about getting the best reception...
let me know if you guys have anymore questions or concerns.
