> In reply to Vic @ 2008-06-10 11:46 from nFxbDo you know how expensive this phone is? You do realise this isn't a handymans phone right? Clearly not so I suggest going and asking a proffessional because I don't really think you understand.
For the price of this, do NOT get dirt on it, least of all drop it.

> In reply to Vic @ 2008-06-10 11:46 from nFxbThe speaker is brilliant! But if your looking for big keys and robust phone, a Nokia 5 series phone is a better option (in case he breaks it after keep dropping the phone). They are cheaper to buy and replace!

Hi can I please ask you all a few questions. I have been given the job by my Dad to find him a phone and all he wants are a good loudspeaker, Large buttone and that its a nokia.
He works with a lot of dust and tends to drop it a lot so I am wondering how durable the phone has been for you all?
Also is the loudspeaker loud and clear?
Thankyou in advance!

The only annoying thing about my Arte is the fingerprint marks! Luckily my phone's build quality is exceptional - I have dropped mine twice and the phone is still solid!!!!! Pepsi, I have never known anyone to feel so passionatly against a phone (unless they have owned one) Just wanna know why this phone gets you so angry? lol :)

I posted last month about how I had issues and had it replaced twice. The third one also became faulty but after the 30 days (slider became loose and screen was coming off) so it had to go for a repair instead of be replaced. So Nokia repaired it by replacing the slider/screen. Instead they made it worse, dust behind the screen, slider scratching against phone...... so I asked my operator to change to a different model. I am very disappointed with the Arte, to get so many replacements then repairs and all be faulty, the quality has slipped. Unlike the 8800 or Sirocco, this may look nicer but it's not worth it. Nokia don't deserve people to spend so much for this phone when the build quality is a joke. Did they sack the QA department or something??

I can see both sides of the argument with this phone. I myself own one and am more than happy with attention to detail Nokia have paid to the 8800 arte. Worth it's value though? Hard to say! Easily one of the sleekest phones I've owned, but nonetheless, a bit pricey all round for a mobile phone.

A question to arte owner, according to nokia website this phone has a fm radio (through comparing feature) but in this review it stated it doesn't. So I'm confused now, arte owner can you confirm it? Thanks

> In reply to K @ 2008-06-02 15:21 from MIaFBTW, in Australia where I live... The Arte is $1799 outright and on a contract paying $149 (Where most phones on this plan would be free) It is still $979 extra on top of the $149 you spend a month for the credit.
I don't see the point in spending that much on a phone with no features.

> In reply to K @ 2008-06-02 15:21 from MIaFNo I don't want this phone because it doesn't do anything. I NEED Wifi and 3G I can't live without it. To me this phone is a waste of time it doesn't have any features I don't see the point so no I don't want it like I have stated 50 times.

Pepsi just outta curiosity what phone do ya have? I mean whatever phone you have I aint gonna say anything bad about it, people have the right to own any phone they want, its all about personal choice. I ask as it just really seems like that you want this phone but cant get one, so your stuck with another phone and trying to justify it being better and this being a terrible phone cos of its price. I paid £170 on a £35pm contract for my Arte and its every penny well spent! Some PAYG phones are about that price, if not more, and people pay £30 or more on vouchers. So it all just adds up at the end of the day...
