I have an original Nokia 8800, extremely sturdy phone, its was worth a bit, but i will stand by the quality of the 8800's.
It is a bit of a let down that there is still no external flash adapter inbuilt 1gb is a great improvement, but still, its rather limiting.
And the big factor that makes me hesitate (other wise i would upgrade to one of these in a flash) is the lack of Wifi. If it had Built in 802.11b/g i would be set.

Recently purchased this phone and the LG Viewty. I plan to keep this phone and give the Viewty to my mom.

Call, reception, sound quality are all much better than the Viewty. Although the Viewty offers more capabilities, this phone performs the basic functions of a phone much better.

Viewty also feels very cheap when you hold it. Doesn't have the heft or the build quality of this phone.

Definitely a MUST BUY!!!

Don't care what the others have to comment ....die hard Nokia 8 Series(since the 8810) fans like me will pass on this one just because the screen(it's the same thing from the 6500c but darker) is too dim & the fonts too small.
The double sensor under the cover that show the clock is neat though...

8600 Luna is really rubbish! The 8800 Arte is 100 times better for sure. I did not pick up one of these because the screen is kind of dark, the keypad is not too comfortable to use & to see. Those fonts are definately way too small for comfortable reading.....even worse then my 6500C because of the dim background lighting!!!
Onn the plus side, this phone is well made & feels real solid. It has got an excellent slide mechanism(better then the original 8800) & the phone is extremely comfortable to hold in your hand.

The slide of the 8600 is also terrible, just don't compare this to the 8600 cause there is no comparison at all! I still won't get this phone cause the above mentioned negative things(especially the small fonts combine with the dim lighting issue). Price is not an issue for me at all as I also happen to own a Moto V8 gold edition & a Vertu constellation.

If you got the money, well yeah. What are you waitin for? The arte is far better than sirocco. With the display capability at 16m colors, that's one thing that makes a difference, and the rest is all but making sirocco a lesser phone than arte..

"I just don't get it.How is better this Arte then Luna?? because the difference between those 2 at price is huge.Arte has better materials or what?"

to answer all your curiosity, find a friend of yours or someone that has this Arte, borrow for a while, and play with it.

after that, maybe you can provide the answers to yourself.
then, hopefully you will have a better knowledge on why people are holding this one, or its expensive siblings such as Vertu, live with it without those extra features or fancy decorations without meanings.

"So answer me at this question.I have a 8800 black sirocco. Its worth to change it with 8800 Arte ??"

it's just my curiosity, because you claimed that you have sirocco black, yet you still doubt about this Arte and keep comparing to Luna, which is considered downgraded type.

but anyway, it's up to you. keep your sirocco black and luna, and we both happy.

cheers
