Well, I bought the 8800 Sirocco Black Arte on March 2007, loved it for 2 years and never had any problems with it, NEVER. But then I was getting bored with it so I bought the Gold Arte in March 2009, had it since then. It is Nov 11 2010 and I've been all around the world, everybody loved it and were very amazed to see a master-piece like this. My Gold Arte is still in Mint Condition.

I got a 8800 sirocco and after a week the earphone won't work!! I've asked around and everyone believes it's the flex and it would cost up to £70 to fix! I'm just gonna stick it on ebay!!

Ok,since nowone is posting here but maybe some before buying the phone are reading opinions i will try to share the most important thing i believe are relevant for this phone. First of all it is a really beautiful phone. It is scratch resistent to a point of course. It really is a fingerprint magnet so you should have something to clean it(cotton t-shirt will do) on the black version finger marks are more visible. The screen is pretty small so if you have problemes with your eye sight this might not be the right phone for you. The slide of the phone is powered by some strong strings designer to last. The keypad of the phone is small and thin fingers are an advantage. Dont have eny expectations with the camera or using the net. Still it can open simple web pages but it takes forever. To download a song it takes around 5 minutes. The sound is not that loud but it's very clear. By the way i forgot i full casing in my country without the keypad is 70€. This phone is beautiful and i believe it's worth having one.

A tad bigger OLED display compared to sirocco 's tft display, the bigger memory of 1GB compared to sirocco's 128mb, the arte has 3G sirocco does not, a better camera( still don't have high expectations from 8800 series camera) . I have sirocco it's a beautiful phone but what they say in the review is true you always have to carry a cleaning clooch with you. I had the opportunity to buy an arte so i was able to compare them. They both are gorgeous phones. I like very much my sirocco but i have to be objective . Go for the arte.

I was talking about a hard reset because i was thinking that you have a bug. So try *#7370#. It should work on nokia. This will delete everything on your phone (songs,contacts and others) and hopelly the bug. Other than that i really don't hnow what is wrong with your phone. Did you bought it from the the black market? There are so many bastards in every country that sell fake chinese copies or damaged originals. By the way have you tried connecting it to nokia pc suite? Try to give it the the hard reset with the*#7370# maybe this will take care of your problem.

i went to one 2nd hand shop in Singapore..he checked for me says its an export set.but confirm real Nokia stuff.
but how to explain the memory wise in the phone?

Have you tried to format it? Maybe you have a bug or something in your phone. Maybe doing a reset is the solution. Try that and tell me the results.

Have you used the*#0000# to disply the software versions? And the fact that it sais made in finland is not an indicator. But i don't want to jump to conclusions. Maybe you installed more aplications(games,music or other things) then you might have thought .

but memory is definately not 128mb..pretty low..think combined around 20 odd mb?
