Why you ppl leave NOKIA alone and do the job what they are supposed to do, why you ppl are making your own customised handset and wants fu****g everything in this tiny toy? NOKIA rocks and this 8800SE is a flagship for NOKIA and a slap for all other manufacturers...Get a life guys specially 'Rich' coz everybody has his/her choice to buy or leave, don't think that whatever you are thinking is the best coz we can stretch our own brain

look.. the phone it's status... its the vertu like vertu but with more functionality and materials... if you compare to the krzr 1 the moto lacks radio, and have smaller resolution.
while the n8800se have 128mb but no card slot.
but this phone its not mean for the best in functionality. in that you should compare the n73, and krzr 1 and it will be unfair! and nokia just do a i version (just one and it upgrade) not like motorola and samsung and sony ericsson that have like 5+ phones that look the same.i have seen like 3 versions of the d900 in just some months... se k610, and the moto razr have plainly all their portafolio.

This phone has got the sexy looks but still it is not very functional b'coz of the missing MMC slot. It has an MP3 player inbuilt but no expandable memory option. How many sound files can be kept in 128 mb capacity? mini mmc slot should be given in all Nokia phones now.

So I have read some comments. The post "The same ole story" comes into focus.

Now let's see if this phone is the same old thing.

This phone may not deserve as much as credit as some people think, but I do not for one moment, think this phone isn't the value for its money. You say there are other "alternatives" in the market.

Of course there are. Of course there are much cheaper, feature packed handsets waiting to be fuddled and used around. But this phone has character, its own characteristics and style.

If you say, "NO, this phone doesn't deserve to be that expensive, it's not worth for its money." Then, are you a person who'd rather shop from Primark, Asda and Hyper Value rather than Nike and Adidas? Because mark my words, those 'cheaper' shops do have clothes of similar quality. So I believe the new 8800 and the other feature-packed phones, are similar comparison to clothes, shoes, watches, and everything else we buy.

Don't know why Nokia's been going through a lot of trouble creating all different editions of the much succesful NK 8800(Black/Gold/Aston Matin and now Sirocco)?Think what'd be good if NK just fixing up what missing from the original 8800 like software's upgraded+better camera+better battery life+bigger screen+add USB conection on cradle+memory card lot and may be lighter material(titanium)then it'd be perfect.

The same old story.
Even my old Nokia 8910 is better than this phone.
In regard to some previous posts about the design and style of 8800 equal the price of it,this thought can't be more wrong.
Expensiveness is not always synonym with design, style or quality.
It’s easy to say the same cheap excuse again and again that people is jealous and can't afford it, because you don’t have something else to say to defend this “phone”,but it’s very hard to admit that this “phone”is not worthy and has nothing to show except high price.Maybe the truth hurts and some people don't want to see it.
Except from the design of this "phone" which is a subjective point of view if you like it or not, there is no other reason to defend this "phone".
Nokia 8800 SE is an overpriced product without a reason. This phone has nothing to show or you have nothing to expect from it.
If you want a bibelot or something to show off this phone is for you.
If you want a decent, reliable or good featured phone this Nokia 8800 SE is not for you.
In market there are better alternatives.Simple as that.

I wouldn't recommend to anyone buying this "phone" just for the looks.
See only the low voting results of Nokia 8800 and Nokia 8800 SE and draw your own conclusion.

"By the way, can you read? I said majority of the buyers in this 8800 class are do not care much about extreme functions; just enough to make a good balance is what they are looking for!!!"

oh you poor little soul. just because the people may not desire such functions means nokia can leave them out? then tell me, why even upgrade the original 8800? why add a 2mp camera? seems to me if the 8800 did what it did so well and was built so great with minimal functions for the rich, there was no need for an 8800SE.

nokia dropped the ball. these are -not- vertu phones. they cut corners because they knew some such as yourself would buy it anyway. i'm not as much of a fan as the krzr as that maxx guy (i haven't used it yet), but while not made of overly heavy steel it has a body made of alloy, infused glass and soft touch plastic. contrary to what you may think, the 8800 is also partially plastic. so stop the shennigans please. phones such as it and samsung e900 are well built to withstand daily abuse and will suit most people just fine. except they actually have functions to match their pricetags.

Just saw & hold the 8800 Sirocco. The black color is nicer looking than the silver one. The silver one does look kind of funny with an off white color around the edge of the whole phone!

The 8800 Sirocco is a little shorter than the original 8800.

Conclusion :- My friends & I, all believe the original 8800 is much nicer looking.

What a perfect idea…to use the new BP 6X instead of BL 5X. It will be great if the dimensions are the same…This will solve the only problem of 8800, battery life, because I’ll not change my phone with the SE…to me 8800 is much beautiful, in the same time the new technical features of SE are not important for me...

maxx,

"the Samsung E900 slider" is not even in the same class.........look so ugly, look more like a wide & flat dead fish lying around the sea bed!!!

Yes, the Moto K1 does look nice too, but the material used is not as good as this 8800 Sirocco.

By the way, can you read? I said majority of the buyers in this 8800 class are do not care much about extreme functions; just enough to make a good balance is what they are looking for!!!

Why do you think people pay so much for a Vertu phone without even a camera? Do you think that these wealthy people who can afford it are stupid?
People who got the brain to make themselves rich do not depend solely on luck, & these people are definately not stupid to spend their hard earned money in a stupid way.

The only stupid one can only be you, maxx! Think about it & wash your own brain.......then MAYBE some day you have a chance to become rich & start knowing how to appreciate a good thing.

maxx, by telling you the above; I am actually putting money into your pocket!

I sold quite alot of the 8800's here in Australia and found that the sreen even though scratch resistant is just a fraction higher than the frame. This then cause the glass to chip off in chunks making your bling phone look old and busted. My guess is that this phone will do the same. Can't say
I didn't warn you!
