Could someone help me please? I just found in one store Nokia 8850 brand new at 110euro.
Could someone please tell me which is the real battery lifetime(standby and talktime) for this Wonderfull Piece of Technology? I really want one.Does anyone know if there is a store or e-store wherefrom I can buy a higher capacity battery for nokia 8850?
Thank You in Advance!
Have a Nice Day!

Hello!
I like this phone a lot even if it is an old model. It still beats, in design, over 90% of the current models. This phone is a legend.Even over 5 years from now on, there will be 8850 users and peoples who will like to buy it.The new 8800 is luxurious too, but it won't be like this one.I think is the biggest hit of all phones.
Thank You!

i found one brand new in a store , bought it straight away for one hundred euros with box , charger, manual, cd-rom. the phone looks and feels like anything that i had in years. i sold my samsung e730 that had a camera, flash, color screen and other stuff on it, and now i have this phone, with simple menu, blue xenon like light, titanium casing. a simple phone...for someone simple like me. but i have style and this phone is in my opinion the most elegant phone i have ever seen, except the 8800, but that one is 800 euros, battery lasts a day...and it has all the functions that i'd never ever use - color screen just hurts my eyes in the dark-. i hope it lasts three or four years, and i'm not planning on chainging this phone. it's the best ever one hundred euros that i had spent ... except that night when i was in Prague with that girl...ok...bye bye...conclusion - i recomend this phone from all my heart. cheers

It is really a classic phone.
I got mine in 2000, and still can't bear to change it now. Very hardy and simply elegant though it lacks all e functions that the current phones have now.

It was inevitable. Nokia has just announced the 8800 which is the next model of the 88xx series of high end 'style' phones. No doubt there will be another version which uses different metal body. Check it out on the nokia website, and here as well.
The 8850 is pretty much obsolete. The only place you could find one would be ebay.
There are newer versions of the PC Suite, and I think can be downloaded from the Nokia website. Whether it will be compatible with the 8850, I don't know.

G'day there...
I still have this gr8 mobile, however I'm running Windows-XP I can't get the PC Suite s/ware to work. I understand it will only work for older versions of Windows, Windows ME and under.
Any ideas of where I can get an updated version for the 8850 to work under the PC Suite s/ware for W-XP.
TIA
Thanking In Advance

Sounds like you've got a slightly dodgy phone there nate...presumably it was second hand and not preserved as new.
It doesn't pick up signals as well as newer phones, but not the problem you describe. The clock should be fine...I too rely on the alarm.

Just got one of these phones, I've wanted one for some time and the opportunity came to get one very cheaply. I've dispensed of my N-gage and Sony T610 to have one of these. They look SOOO cool. One problem I have though is with the Clock, it just doesn't keep time! It is very very slow. As a result I can't use the alarm which i rely on! Also the signal is very weird, it often goes from 4 bars to none and then back to 4 again when just sitting on the desk! It often goes when i open the slide and i have to wait for signal to come back before i can make a call! Anybody else had these problems??
Still a great little phone, Nate.
