Nokia has done good job in terms of battery life. The previous best from nokia was Nokia X1-01 with highest standby time(i am using XA-01 as second phone for its giving great stand by time 15 days in real world usage conditions). Asha 501 beats X1-01 in battery life despite having smaller battery and much larger 3 inch screen. But 3G model of this new Asha series is very much needed now..hope nokia will launch 3G model having 14MbPS modem with PC connectivity and has a function of portable hotspot for wifi connectivity to tablets....and yes battery life can be further boosted using BL-5j battery having 1430 mAh capacity which was previously used in X1-01 model. nokia are you listening?
Im impressed. Now asha can do more. 501 is for those who dont have a lot to spend but want to have a feel of smartphone. Well, they say there will be 3g versions, hope those have atleast 512ram,5mp camera and good low light,3.5inch screen,200ppi,1ghz processor, very good audio quality, rich video format support and support for the most basic of apps especially WHATSAPP!!!! Go go nokia!!!
nokia please release a midrange phone with Nokia Asha software platform 1.0 with dual sim & 3g (nokia doesnt have any dual sim phone with 3g), 3.5" screen with VGA screen resolution, 256mb ram, vga video recording @ 30fps, document viewer/editor and at least 1300mah battery
please add physical buttons for answer/hang up and a slide keyboard
Bonker, 09 May 2013One thing i have to agree. Asha 501 looks great and better than Galaxy Y. And fastlane feature... moreI am just afraid if it really does multitasking or not, because I hate closing my webbrowser just to read a sms or to change the song in music player ..and if no then I will stuck to my nokia 701 .
The high end and mid level phones of the new look asha will propel nokia forward.
cheers to that
iamsujeet, 09 May 2013And if I say about this asha 501 it has got attractive looks ..light in weight stylish changab... moreOne thing i have to agree. Asha 501 looks great and better than Galaxy Y. And fastlane feature is amazing.
Bonker, 09 May 2013Price and Specifications match spot on with Samsung Galaxy Y. Both have 3" screen and 133... moreAnd if I say about this asha 501 it has got attractive looks ..light in weight stylish changable colors .big battery backup ,3.2mp camera is looking good in handson videos .innovative UI better than those small icons on android +only one physical button .
Bonker, 09 May 2013Price and Specifications match spot on with Samsung Galaxy Y. Both have 3" screen and 133... moreOk let me clear you...galaxy y when launched was 7.5k now it is 5.6k here on flipkart.com..so same will happen with this asha 501 it will be available on less than 4.5k after 1 or 2 years. Galaxy Y 2mp camera suks a big time and I know that and screen ppi is whatever the color does not looks good in practical on Y and the battery perfonmnence is a huge disappointment of it also it lags and cant run most of the games and apps available on google play store..and yes wifi hotspot and gps is a pluspoint though but rest of it is just bad .
Anonymous, 09 May 2013does it suport multy tasking? Like symbian?Yes it supports multitasking...read in GSM Arena only...they said they were told in the event by Nokia itself...
Whats going on nokia totally bad mobile phones are launching please come up with android and make fool of people, people do not buy this phone ,i m asking from my heart , asha series is very bad.
Price and Specifications match spot on with Samsung Galaxy Y. Both have 3" screen and 133ppi. Now Galaxy Y is Rs.5.5K in India and has thousands of apps already available. Now question is how SmarterPhone platform competes with Andriod 2.3 in terms of usability? I feel pity for Nokia.... check comparison of both.
gajendra, 09 May 2013does it support minimize the application and whattsappyes it is a smartfone, it is multi-tasking...nokia is better all the way,
