Hey. just one question for all of you specially H from Karachi as im frm there too
Question. can we call the E5 an e-series with a pinch of n-series..???
Anonymous, 16 Aug 2010But I still prefer E72 than E5. Its just my personal opinion.yes, but few people know that e72 is slower than the e5, look what i found on forum.nokia.com :
nokia e72 ram: 128 mb
nokia e5 ram: 256
nokia e 5 it has better processor and ram than any other nokia device, except n900 that it has the same ram as e5(256 mb ram and 600 mhz processor)
i just can't wait until it arives in europe
Guys, if u dont mind for plasticy body, go for E5. less in prices. One more, 65k color display with 320 x 240 pixels just enough to see a pictures. Low display color, need less battery power, thats why, the battery can last longer, unless using low battery spec. Its the cheapest nokia ESeries phone currently.
I don't know about the others here, but I can immediately tell the difference between a 65k, 262k and 16 million colors phone display. I've used so many different brands of mobile phones over the years and some 65k and 262k phone displays look pixellated, although the 65k display of the BlackBerry is an exception.
I'm currently using a Nokia E63 and is currently waiting for the E5 one to officially come out here in my country. It has great features, and I'm curious about its 5-mp camera. Been reading various reviews about it, but I won't really know what it's like unless I've used it myself.
Shashi Kumar, 16 Aug 2010Can Any body Say about his camera features Is it Worthy? Will It work as 5MP Showing Lence????camera is good as a 3 m pixel.

Anonymous, 15 Aug 2010Dude you say at one point that "I had to sell my E71 to get the E5. Now I think it wasn't... moreI totally agree.... There is some serious problem with Mr. Mobe. It has been over a week since I am using E5. Before this, I had used E71 and E72. Apart from steel body, I dont think there is anything wrong with E5. 600 Mhz processor, 250mb memory, upgraded software version, flash light, 5mp camera, etc. What else do u guys want in this price ???? Ok i agree that there is 30ms delay when entering a phone number, but what is the issue with web brower ???? Battery is smaller than that of E71 and E72 in specs, but has more standby and talk time. It gave me a full 3 days with heavy usage.
Come on guys ........ Whats wrong .... I think first time Nokia has offered a good features phone in affordable price. Till date I haven't come across any software issue in the phone. Unlike E72, where my space bar key stopped working after every 5 hours.
I will definately give this phone 9 out of 10.
Good Work Nokia .....
This is a Question for the guys who's bought this Masterpiece...
Dies this Mobile have a 5 way Key like E72...
Looks of E72 are just killing...
Dunno which one to go with...
guys plz hit a reply...
Mobe, 15 Aug 2010Well, E5 is a very good phone to begin with. It lacks a few minor features and good design. Ye... moreDude you say at one point that "I had to sell my E71 to get the E5. Now I think it wasn't worth it..."
and the next u say e5 makes u happy, u r seriously having some problem.
if these below are the prons of the handset then i would say its worth giving rating 8 out of 10.
"E5 has better signal reception than E71. A few extra convenient features than E71. Cheap at price and light weight"
Kev, 13 Aug 2010Is the memory card in E5 hot-swappable?Nope. You have to remove the battery to swap the memory card.
Well, E5 is a very good phone to begin with. It lacks a few minor features and good design. Yes, the phone doesn't look really nice when you're holding it wearing a business suit. It has a plastic feeling to it. The volume buttons are a pain to press as well as opening the battery cover. There's no hot-swap for memory card, which means you'll have to remove the battery every time you wanna change memory card. The speaker volume is so maximized, that when you play a calm track, you can hear unwanted high hiss in the background. Try typing a phone number quickly, there's about a 30ms delay. The web browser is a bit sluggish. I will not comment about the camera as its a business phone and I had no expectations in that section.
Aside from the above points, the phone is perfect to use, I just bought mine for AED 980. I had to sell my E71 to get the E5. Now I think it wasn't worth it...
What makes me happy?

I will give it a 6 out of 10.
well wisher, 14 Aug 2010-Display is Very BAD
only 256K colors
-No secondary camera for 3g use
-Only singly LED... moreThe display is not very bad. You simply CANNOT tell the difference between 256k and 16m colours. Blackberries have had 320x240 64k colour screens since the start of time (88, 83, 85, 82, 93 and 87 series). Even the 9700 and 9000 have 64k colours.
Who cares seriously about the camera flash?? It's a messaging phone.
Anonymous, 14 Aug 2010Yes BB only has 65k color. but look at the screen resolution. Its pixel bigger than nokia 240 ... moreNo they're not. The Blackberry 8520 and 9300 have a 320x240 65k colour screen and I invite you to tell the difference.
Niles, 14 Aug 2010Your E63 has FP1 a slow processor and half the RAM count of this phone. 16 million vs 256k col... moreyes. totally agree!
bold has only 65k color and i've used it for so long. i'm quite pleased with it.
when is gsmarena coming out with a review of this phone?
