Does anyone know how to send a video msg on the E51? everytime i try to send one it says it has to be less than 300kb.
Why is the SAR value that extremely high? Is it due to the use of WLAN and Bluetooth?

I heard sometime ago that European countries have now implemented strict camera ruling. For the most part I hear that disabling shutter sound is a no no.
I was thinking of flashing my phone with the European firmware as I hate US English (American spoiled up the English language). I always stick to UK English...BUT if flashing my E51 with the European firmware will result in my camera sounds staying on no matter what, I will stick to the US English.
I don't think a preferred language is worth me missing out on some nice sneaky photos (smile).
WINURA, when you read this please send me a sms and tell me the present time in the sms so I can work out the time differences between our countries. I keep missing you online. When I go online you are offline at all times so maybe when I'm awake you are asleep and vice versa.

What's your PRODUCT CODE ? You will find that information on the label under the battery.
In your IMEI number, what are the 7th and 8th digits.
You can also find your IMEI under the battery or simply type *#0000# in standby mode.
I want to try the VOIP but Skype and many others are blocked here in Kuwait, so don't want to risk it. Also since I'm used to chatting almost half hour to 1 hour, I'd rather stay away from using the VoIP over Mobile Phone.
Do you need this phone to use VOIP, or can you call through the internet with any phone as long as it has wifi ?
Yeah! The Wifi in E51 is amazing. It offers so many possibilities. The Email feature is cool. As soon as I enter my office premises, the phone downloads all my Emails.
Power keys and side keys is not a big issue, and the Camera shutter sound can be avoided by downloading a third party Cam Software.
My Phone's in UK English mode (as per OJ's idea - "Dialled" !
I hope Nokia/Symbian fix the Cancel option while editing and improve the gallery & Music player function. Its difficult to get a decent replacement for the built-in "File Manager" and Music Player.

At first I found the power key hard to press but realise you have to know where to press. As it is now I don't have a problem pressing the power key. I guess it comes with practice and a little wear and tear.
The side keys were never hard to press on my E51.
My camera sound is turned off in silent mode. This depends on the region the phone was intended for as you know some countries have strict laws about cameras whereas others doesn't.
Question: What language is your phone in ? English US or English UK. The easiest way to tell is by going to dialled calls and see if Dialled is spelt with 1 or 2 Ls. If it's spelt Dialed then it's US English.

I'm also coming from a 6230 which is the most legendary phone Nokia ever created.
The 6230 is the LONGEST I have ever kept a phone...reason being I didn't see anything better on the market.
I then moved on to 6300 which was a nice upgraded but still rathered a few things with the 6230's interface.
As it is now I have a E51 and have been alternating between it and the 6300 on a weekly basis for work.
I didn't even come across the editing issue in Contacts as I haven't started using the E51 full time. That is really a bad move from Nokia or Symbian.
You can read my previous articles about preferences in s40 (6230, 6300 etc.) compared to s60 (symbian) phones.
I chose the E51 because it has ever technology in the world and is a very powerful phone.
WLAN with it's data and VOIP implementation takes the cake which allows me to cut down on my calling costs especially to overseas.
isn't the voice quality low for listening to the music?is it even better than N70?
I've been using this phone for about 2 mths now & I love some of the features of the phone, but switching from 6230 after using it for 3 yrs makes some of the functions of the E51 - "very annoying".
1. The Camera shutter sound can't be turned OFF. Not even in Silent Mode.
2. There's no "View" Option in To Do & Notes. Also No "Cancel" option while making any editing, e.g. Contacts name/Tel#. Whatever change you make is permanent. If you accidentally delete a character or number from a contact while editing it, you've lost it. (I think this is one of the stupidest things in the phone, I'm not sure if its a symbian prob, or Nokia E51's fault)
3. Side Keys & Power button are very difficult to press, esp. if you have a protective plastic cover installed. I think Nokia doesn't want people to use these buttons often.
4. If bluetooth headset is connected, & you start music player, there's No Option to transfer the output to the Loudspeaker. You have to either listen to the bad quality music over bluetooth headphone or turn the bluetooth OFF.
5. If you have selected any profile other than GENERAL, the DATE Display goes off from the Desktop.
6. In Gallery & File Manager, If you open any item, picture or music, the NEXT & PREVIOUS functions do not work. You have to click back, scroll to the next item and click to view or play it.(I really miss the 6230 for its excellent Gallery feature)
7. "Track Number" function doesn't work in Music player. You have to remember the freakin song's NAME even if you have 500+ mp3 in the memory.
8. While changing a ringtone, the phone shows you the list of countless MP3's & Videos in the memory, doesn't let you browse by folders (making organization of Tones in a separate folder UseLess) and you can't search from this list by any method. So if I want to change the ringtone to something like "Musical..." I wud have to manually scroll down 250 times until I reach "Mus...". (Pain in the ... thumb
