> In reply to Vinz @ 2008-11-18 18:04 from M@T2VINZ, I didn't get to spend enough time with the 6630 to compare it's loudness with that of E51's.

What I do know is that the E51 have a better battery life and you can easily get more than 1 day out of it, depending on how often you use certain features. If you use Wi-Fi a lot then 1 day is probably the maximum you will get out of the battery as Wi-Fi is a power hungry feature.

If you don't use Wi-Fi and multimedia features like video player, music player etc. then you can probably get a full week out of the battery.

Once again battery life is dependent on which feature is used and how often.

No matter how hard you use any of the features, you should easily get at least 1 day of battery life and this is based on my own experiences with the E51.

Still its not working:( Can someone please help? I have also tried OWA exchange address. Still doesnt work. Any better way of checking outlook emails than logging on internet OWA!!

Thanks,
SAM

You can change the Wi-Fi (WLAN) TX POWER LEVEL settings by going to MENU->TOOLS->SETTINGS->CONNECTION->WIRELESS LAN-> then select OPTIONS->ADVANCED SETTINGS->YES then press the center button (biggest button on keypad). Scroll until you find TX POWER LEVEL then press center key and select the TX setting you wish the Wi-Fi to operate at.

Before I get into the Challenger Mobile bit, do you know how to connect to the service to make VOIP calls ?
Unfortunately, the Challenger Mobile website doesn't have a white list page which would have been a big help in finding other members who use the service.

Give me your Challenger Mobile number. I'm yet to speak to any other members.

Send me a text and let me know when you are online at +18763716012.

Someone from here sent me a text, figured it may have been you. The number the sms came from is +923212430260...is that your mobile number ?

For the record my Challenger SIP number is 18763716012@challengermobile.com.

Anybody who's interested in giving me a VOIP call can, if you don't get me please leave a voice message with contact information for me to get back to you.

Whoever is with the Challenger Mobile service only needs to activate the service and simply enter 18763716012 then select OPTIONS=>CALL->INTERNET CALL.

Hi All,i have this phone and my firmware is 100..34.20, i tried to update it to 220,but its not updated.
i have charged my battery full, selected profile general,no encryption or password, have connected to broad band net with firewall disabled.
first it is showing the updates and will download it, after that when it starts updating software it will stand still showing 15 minutes remaining, after some time it will terminate itself showing RETRY.my phone goes blank when it starts updating but after retry also the same process is repeated. i have tried this with my friends PC too but the same things are repeated. Is there any problem with my phone in updating or anybody else faced the same. Please help as u people always DO.Thanks in advance.

Also, any of you guys face this strange problem like when you play YouTube videos, the video sometimes stuck at '4sec'. and the phone hangs up. The only option I have left at that time is to remove the battery and insert it again...

I don't know why it gets stuck only at 4th second not anywhere in the video. While playing videos I just pray that it crosses the 4th second mark.... :-)

You know a lot about mobiles and its internal settings...

Also, may be its an inappropriate question for the forum, I keenly wanted to know that do you work in some mobile company or what???

Also, pls do tell me how to reduce these settings for wifi from 100 to 4, cause when I use YouTube my mobile gets hot...

One more thing I want to know is that I dont know how to operate Challenger Mobile pls guide me...
I have installed on my mobile but how do I get that number by means of which we contact other people???

Thanx for helping me and lot of people in this forum...
Luv You man...

> In reply to Monty @ 2008-11-15 09:00 from iFsDMONTY, if you want a bit less power consumption you can change the Wi-Fi TX POWER LEVEL to 4mW or 10mW. It is set to 100mW by default.

The advantage is that the battery won't heat up as much when using Wi-fi...especially when you are on a VOIP call. The fact that the battery doesn't get hot when set to a lower transmission power level should obviously mean that less power is being used.

The disadvantage is that the reception is weaker and you are less likely to pick up a signal feed unless you have a Wi-Fi router at home or work.

Feeding from a Wi-Fi router while on the road will be unlikely to happen UNLESS the TX POWER LEVEL is set to 100mW. For example, from my bedroom I am able to connect with Wi-Fi routers from my neighbourhood when the TX is set to 100mW but if I lower the TX to 4mW I don't pick up at all and setting it to 10mW normally picks up the neighbour's signal but it's a weak one...so ONLY set it lower than 100mW if you have a dedicated Wi-Fi router at home or work.

If you have a Wi-FI router at home or work and set it to 4mW, you will see that the signal remains strong, you will even achieve connection speeds of 100% depending on how close you are to your Wi-Fi router. So 4mW is NOT bad at all BUT works best when you have a dedicated Wi-Fi router.

Experiment with the transmission power level settings and see which setting works best based on your situation. Playing around with the settings will yield different results depending on the distance range between you and a Wi-Fi router.

But remember, a lower TX POWER LEVEL means less battery consumption.

I did all the things u said, and since then i'm charging it once every 36hours, which is 200% improvement in my battery life. Thanks a million OJ.
I am an active wifi user + bt in car, so i'm satisfied if the batt doesn't surprise me overnight.
Thx for the tips.
