People keep complaining about the side buttons. Mine are fine and NOT hard to press at all.
If the grammer I used to describe the capabilities sound a bit funny it's because I copied that portion of text from a Blackberry forum. I posted that segment on the Blackberry forum to tell them why Nokia E=Series is better.

I don't even know where to start as tips could come into the hundreds.
Just learn that this will be the MOST POWERFUL phone you ever had.
Feel it out, experiment, read the manual and enjoy.
I will tell you the main capabilities though:+
backup entire phone memory to memory card which include contacts, text messages, notes, Calendar appointments, phone settings etc. and it can be restored at will. Mine can make calls over the internet, both VOIP and SIP. I can make MSN and Skype calls and other IM calls. I can upload my contacts to a backup server and a whole lot more. I can't list all the features here. I can even do all these without a SIM card even being in my phone. I use Wi-Fi to do all these, FREE internet access. I can even print e-mails, text messages, notes etc. over Wi-Fi, bluetooth and more. The print feature works flawlessy. I easily print to a LAN HP printer at my office...no cables, nothing whatsover but wireless communication. Somebody tell me which Blackberry can do all that ?
Just thought I would mention a few more goodies. My Nokia Enterprise can also be accessed via a computer wireslessly. I can use my computer to access my phone's memory card without a data cable or with a data cable. I can also use my voice to compose an e-mail, text message etc. (using a third party software).
You can copy and paste quite quickly like a regular PC (holding down # key which also doubles as SHIFT key).
You can use a single key (# key) to easily mark files for copy or deletion etc.
There are more golden opportunities to this amazing computer phone but I won't take the fun out of it by telling you anymore.
If you ever have any problems or queries just come back here and state them. Enjoy your Nokia E51

Prakash, 09 Sep 2009This model(E51) available in Tamilnadu(Chennai). need to buy
i updated the software online using the updater on the microsoft sync.. u know the cd it came along with.. it has fixed some errors. before it use to stall and freeze then would reboot automatically and now that issue stopped!! i'm really satisfied! but i was told it's not a good thing to do! i don't know what to believe now.
Great phone, love it. The OS is definately suited to business. Anyone know how to get the version of S60v3 used in N95, N73? Side buttons are really bad quality, one guy I know has to put a key into top to turn his on! Great! I'm looking at a 5730 xpressMusic, or something completely different, an LG KS360!

Looking @ all the posts there everyone seem to crying about the power and volume buttons i have no probs with mine either im having no probs with my phone @ all & its 6mths now i had a N82 before this but nothing but bother with it
i am using this mobile i am very happy say that because i just look upon the net speed.moderm connectivity, and also sym60.the function is pefctily work on this mobile......so i am happy say the nokia is most trusted brand in the world
The two MOST spoke about things about the E51 is the rubber buttons and whether it supports 8GB memory cards.
Well I have NO PROBLEM with my rubber buttons. They work easily. I don't have to press them hard like many people complain about and I use a 8GB Transcend Class 6 memory card and it runs fast. It's so fast it seems as if there's no memory card in the phone.
abeer, 05 Sep 2009I need ur urgent help. My mobile is Nokia 51. three or 4 keys are reuined. They do not functio... moreget the cover changed or go to local market who can help,,i dont think you need to buy new fone its your buttons have stuck due to moisture or ware and tare..new covers or faceplates cost about 7 GBP so thats all you need ,,you tube may have a video on how to replace e51 covers,,but if e51 is in warranty they should repair free..ITs not all doom and gloom.
shaan, 06 Sep 2009not worth ... all over its a bad cellphone to by ... First you can start by learning English and then you van comment on this phone!!!It's great phone!!!
Can anyone tell me if we can change the voice in the speech section instead of listening to Ellen or Martin.
I have this phone since 1yr. my experiences-
1.Build quality-very good, weight nice to hold
2. display very good 3. keys-very convenient with one touch for frequent apps 4. side rubber buttons for volume, voice dialling r problematic. very hard to press
5. Signal reception & call clarity- excellent 6. features-excellent. 7-multimidea- I found it good but I dont use music much. 8-Battery- very decent for a smartphone-mine 3 days with minimal use. 8.Software-very good and fast, no lags or hangs (I had a problem of left softkey which by default is assigned to menu made it hang again and again-its a bug. all u have to do is to change the left softkey function to something else like e mail.9. Camera-ok. enough for me. Good number of themes and 3rd party apps available for this.
All in all a very good phone for me.
