x_under, 21 Sep 2010I like it a lot, seems perfect for me.. I bought a samsung wave two months ago, though the supe... moresorry men but i hope you wont get disappointed high powered smart phone today consumes a lot of power same way for every manufacturers. wave 1ghz processor 3.5inch super amoled screen. e7 680mhz but 4ich amoled screen. battery of wave 1500mah e7 1200mah only. no.1 power consuming for every cellphone is the screen. dont expect it to be the same with e72. e72 only has 2.36 screen with a 1500mah battery that's y we can enjoy long lasting battery life and 1 more thing touchscreen much more power than non touch screen fons...
I like it a lot, seems perfect for me..
I bought a samsung wave two months ago, though the super amoled is cool,I had some issues with it..I have a sweaty palm and the full touch screen is such a disaster for me coz it leaves smudges everytime I'm using it..I gave it to my sister after two weeks..
The slide out full qwerty is what I'm looking for, although there are some who offers it,I don't think they have the same reliabilty that that of a nokia, samsung wave have a lousy connectivity and battery life, and I can't stand a handset that you have to charge everyday, the specs simply doesn't deliver...I hope that this e7 will..I'm on e72 right and I'm quite satisfied with it,but it won't hurt upgrading to this..can't wait..
It is so simple to choose phone
dont need physuical qwerty go for nokia n8, if need that qwerty , go for e7
nokia hasalready updated their ovi store and ovi maps, they have significantly improved.
What are you people complaining about the focus camera. This is a business phones with several features for fun. If you're buying this phone only for the camera than don't do it. I would never buy an Iphone and any other brand. For the past 12 years i've used 4 nokia and one samsung phone and the experience i have from the current E71 is great. My wife has Nokia N97 mini and we both love the phones. After couple of software updates everything is perfect.
To everyone out there complaining about this phone not having the AutoFocus feature you should really buy a camera and solve that issue since that is its purpuse to take picture.
This is going to be my next phone and I'm very happy to be a current satisfied owner of Nokia phones.
Anonymous, 20 Sep 2010Firstly, if you had done a little more reading and less ranting, you would know that the on/of... moreI have been using ONLY nokia for past 12 yrs so practical use weighs more then reading, so stop ranting and listen to genuine concerns. At times when phone gets hanged none of buttons works including power button, then removing battery is the only option to switch off phone then switch it on.if the battery is sealed what do we do??
And yes, this is the first device by nokia with sealed battery.
If battery gets spoiled or damaged then we replace the battery for eg. if battery swells up we change it but if battery is sealed then how can you change the battery???or do we have to change the whole hanset?????
Your suggestion of having an extra rechargeable battery is nice for low power battery but what about the previous two concerns?????
i like nokia n8 better then this one i dont care about keyboard nokia n8 has touchscreen keyboard
Not have Xenon Flash,,,not good....i thing For N8,,,bute N8 havent keyboard
Anonymous, 20 Sep 2010Nokia never ceases to disappoint me. I was really impressed by everything on this phone until ... moreWould you rather it had all those features, weighed 200g, was 17mm thick and cost 1000usd? Be rational. This is the 21st century. By todays standards, it is impossible to create the perfect do it all device. Somethings have to give. The biggest loss in this case is the card slot. Though usb otg ought to sooth that ache.
The lack of Af is understandable. Af requires moving parts in the camera module and hence, a much larger camera which means a thicker device. Lack of af doesn't mean it won't take good close ups though. My pals 5230 takes wonderful shots at less than 30cm with its 2mp snapper without af. You can only see the blur(which is not too much) when you view em on a big screen. Ppl are just blowing the issue out of proportion. xBesides, its an eseries not a media monster.
Rational individuals like myself would pick dual led over zenon any day.
Anonymous, 20 Sep 2010Biggest problem of e7 is that the battery is SEALED. If the phone gets hanged and power on/of... moreFirstly, if you had done a little more reading and less ranting, you would know that the on/off switch is fail proof. It disconnects the device from its power source when held down for 8secs. Quite similar to that used on laptops. If you battery develops a fault, have it repaired AT A STORE. They're all over the place. That is Unless you live in antartica or some remote oasis in the sahara. I really don't know what then fuss is about. Its not like this is the first sealed battery mobile. If you need extra juice, there is a nokia rechargeable charger for that. It stores up to two charges and is very compact.
Anonymous, 20 Sep 2010Stupidity people buy BRAND, not quality or speed!
Because of poor business, Nokia this year a... moreStop spreading false rumors/opinions as facts. All new Nokia models--announced at the Nokia World 2010--have metal shells and working lifetime navigation. I have the Galaxy S and its GPS is terrible and worse than the 5800XM's. (I do admit the S has a nice screen. It also has the cheap plastic shell, unlike the new models from Nokia which have metal shells. And Nokia is also well known for superior signal reception.
With all these and you still say that Nokia used inferior parts? Huh!? Didn't you read the rules "No bashing - deliberately and repeatedly bashing the same brand" and "No trolling - deliberately antagonizing other brand/model users". You like your phone, good, but trash talking Nokia will only make me people more sympathetic towards Nokia. I for one refuse to buy products from a company that would use a low sneaky sale tactic as sending its workers to trash talk its competitor.
1. n900 have a secondary camera. but not work. and no mms. firefox in beta. and no flash 10. and only 600 mhz
2. n97 is ****
3. all the new device ****. only 360*640 screen. 680 mhz. its not about how fast. its about the updats and the now features later. long support
4. battery life.
Nokia never ceases to disappoint me. I was really impressed by everything on this phone until I read that the camera is fixed focus... And no Xenon... Plus 16GB of memory instead of 32GB like my N97. I even hate my N97 for all of the issues I've had. Otherwise, this phone looks great though. I'm really looking forward to the Desire Z though.
It would be interesting to know the answers regarding the sealed battery rather then comparing two handset and fighting over it in this forum.
Only thing I'm bit disapointed about is the processor, everything else is wonderful.
My first choice is Samsung i9000 Galaxy S, the specs are very good.
Biggest problem of e7 is that the battery is SEALED.
If the phone gets hanged and power on/off switch does not work then how do we switch off and then switch on the phone.
We cant keep spare battrey so as to change the battery if its low and this phone has only 1200mah battery.
If sealed battery gets spoiled or damaged then what do we do??? How to change the battery or how even nokia care will change the battery???
Anyone has answers to these questions, NOKIA people if you care????
Does this phone has an auto switch on and switch off feature similar to Blackberry? If not, it is a shame Nokia phones do not have such a handy feature. I have scourged the Ovi store too and it seems there is not a single application to support switching off and On Nokia phones automatically.
