Read about the joystick problems that people are having - and can say for sure that my E70 has no joystick problems at all.

I bought mine used in April, with 100 hours of talk time on it. Since then, (10 months later), I'm at 194 hours, and no mechanical problems whatsoever. After many drops, some of the paint chipped off the * and # keys. Screen practically perfect, with no screen protector.

This phone is rock solid.

Biggest problem is the lack of RAM - same as the early N95s. Very large webpages will refuse to load, which can be frustrating. Other than that, the phone is great, and the software selection is fantastic.

Any news if Nokia is making a new version of this wonderful machine?
A month now, I parked my E70 and got the SE Xperia , and not happy so far.. It takes too much time for every function despite my advanced IT level...

> In reply to hassan mansoor @ 2008-12-24 08:08 from 2TurIt shouldnt take that long to send smses, it may be a service provider issue rather than a handset issue. Have you contacted your provider?

I just picked up a 20month old E70, I bought with the intention of seling again. This phone has won me over, it still ranks well against new phones. Feature wise it has everything needed and from a design point of view it is functional. The buttons are big enough not to tire your fingers in similar phones. The camera is clear in all lighting conditions. At the price you can pick this phone up for now it is a real winner....I think I might hold onto this one

In my opinion, Nokia E70 is the best handset in business class till date. Its full keypad makes life easy. Also, it can accomodate a memory card of upto 2GB. In case you are unable to find a carrying pouch for E70, try purchasing the E60 Belt pouch. Its never given me any problem till date. Its an extremely ruff &tuff H/S. My baby plays with it. Now you can imagine.

I've been using this baby for almost 2 years now. Yes the joystick would be a problem after an intensive 1 year use. But I managed to repair it in an authorized nokia service center nearby. It cost me only US$ 5. Tow days service. And now it feels like new again. I live in jakarta, surely you all would have easier acces to repair it.

This phone has been a pretty decent phone. For debuting in '06, it sure has a nice set of features (mainly wifi). The keypad is superb with fantastic tactile feedback. I actually use my E70 instead of my E61i every now and then, because it just feels more suitable for texting (plus the keypad light button sure helps). What surprises me most is the video capabilities of this phone. I'm able to record loud heavy metal concerts and it is just incapable of distorting. The audio sounds phenomenal for a phone (an E series, nonetheless). I've had this phone for over a year, and I too have experienced the joystick going sour. I realized it's, more likely than not, just trapped dirt. If my joystick doesn't respond, I take a toothpick and slightly pull out this inner rubber ring that lies within the stick and just blow it out. Seems to work just fine. I suggest everyone doing that before paying for repairs.
