i can upgrade my contract now in RSA and would like to know weather it is a good idea to get the e72.I have had the e71 and have been very happy with it.Help me,as i am afraid, from what i have read that the softwear on the nokiae72 is unstable, and i have had a nokia like that before. The phone was in for repairs more than what i used it.Please help?
Fumozhe, 18 Feb 2010I'm taking no side here since I value all brands and prefer phones with better specification a... moreThe "wannabee" has by far superior materials than the "original". E71 and E72 are sleeker than the Bolds, and just as powerful. As to the OS, it really is a matter of taste, but there are many more apps running on Symbian.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I'm taking no side here since I value all brands and prefer phones with better specification and reasonable price regardless the brands.
You said that compared to curve 8900, e72 is like a dummy phone. But when I check both phone spec, it seems e72 is far superior than curve 8900. e72 has more display colors, has 3g, better class in gprs and edge, better camera, faster processor, has radio and longer battery life.
But I have to agree with Ju-Mong that this E-series is blackberry wannabe. Other brands like samsung, SE, and many more seems like to imitate the design of blackberry too, not only nokia. And I really don't like copycats.
I like the originality of blackberry design. And judging from design, I think blackberry is better than nokia E-series. Also, curve 8900 is lighter and has a bit larger display and better resolution than e72. But, the best thing from blackberry is its BIS and readable-under-sunshines display. I also like Blackberry OS better than Symbian OS used by e72.
So, to sum it up, every phone must have its strengths and weaknesses. And which phone we should pick is up to users' needs.
The reason your MSG indicator keeps blinking could be that you have a SIM message (not your normal message)Delete this and the blink should disappear
About the space bar stops functioning...I have noticed more of these complaints from users who have bought their E72 in India...Is it a firmware issue with Indian market...to my knowledge Nokia do many changes in firmware with every market as per language options etc and it seems the Indian firmware is corrupt...Is there any user from differnt market than India who has a problem with space bar key...please inform...thanks

Some contributors are repeatedly posting deroga... moreI agree with you...thanks for taking these efforts to boost up the image of this site...On the left side of screen we can see the popularity / Daily interest bar...I wish to achieve more than 90% and we all together can do it...you all can help be being not abusive to those who post negative comments...instead try to clear their doubts and try to help each other out...I wish this site to be so popular that even BB or SE or Samsung or LG or whatever fans once surf this site should praise instead of abuse...even they abuse a few times which they can do but ultimately they stay on this site and enjoy our everyday discussions...after all WE ARE ALL MOBILE FANS AND NEED LOTS OF INPUTS ABOUT WHATS HAPPENING IN MOBILE WORLD...Lets do it...
Ed, 15 Feb 2010if u have the money..for sure get the BB bold..by far the better OS and battery life on it is ... moreAre you sure the battery BB Bold is better than Nokia E72??? Please say the truth laaaa
I have been following the threads for long.
Some contributors are repeatedly posting derogatory threads, to E72 I mean, in poor English sometimes. Such comments do not contribute anything to the thread.
Some say they have owned the phone for two days and it sucks. Get real, Guys and Gals. Give the phone some time. How can you know the phone in such a short time.
And do not post stupid comments. They only decrease your credibility. Do you think anyone takes them seriously.
Please use less of SMS lingo. And no abusive or sarcastic comments.
If anyone wishes to post something positive or negative about the phone please back up the writings with sound arguments.
Let us raise the level of this thread guys.
Soniya, 17 Feb 2010Cell guru,i have good news and one bad news,SE x2 is here and the bad news is its priced 850 U... moreSeems like in your place people are filthy rich...USD 850 for SE...SE should feel proud...Dont even think of buying it and tell those people who gave you the price USD 850..." keep it in the Museum " and tell them to price it at USD 8,500 and maybe some stupid SE freak will buy it. In recession like this some dirty leeches dont stop playing games...Better you wait till March...We save ourselves from such sucking companies who want to make extra bucks by fooling innocent mobile fans. God, Punish these sinful objects on earth.
What a crap! blackberry wanna be! I hope they stop manufacturing E-Series coz it's such a shame.Sorry for E72 fanatics, I've been one of them before but when i have this phone the day after I bought it the phone starts restarting every hour I dont know what king of quality they've done with this unit but surely it's the poorest quality of phone I ever had.
Friend it may be bcuse ov de sim messages go to messages then option then sim messages then mark all and del them
Hope this will work.
