That said windows will be supporting a Quad core in the next update to satisfy consumers who want to pay bid buck for 3 extra cores that they will not be using.
Kk, 13 Jul 2013Camera may b 41 mp but observe it's processor.. Only dual core! It's time to have 1.8 ghz oct... moresorry, I don't agree with you at all. If a 1.3ghz single core processor can produce 41 megapixel photo in Nokia 808 PureView then why can't do it a 1.5ghz dual core processor? It's all about technology and os. Even quad core isn't needed at all... Lumia 1020 has 2GB of ram too.
@kk
Octa-Core? Do you want to run a data processing center on it? Currently octa-cores in mobile phones are just a huge drain on batteries and do not provide much benefit as softwares on cellphones neither use nor need that kind of processing power. It's more beneficial to have more ram (up to 2 or 4 GB) than it is to have an octa-core processor on something as tiny as a phone....unless you plan on playing the PC version of crisis on your phone that is :)
Kk, 13 Jul 2013Camera may b 41 mp but observe it's processor.. Only dual core! It's time to have 1.8 ghz oct... moreWhat the hell do you wanna do on octa core processor in in a phone?! one core is a little bit too low, but dual is just enough (maybe not on android lol)!
Kk, 13 Jul 2013Camera may b 41 mp but observe it's processor.. Only dual core! It's time to have 1.8 ghz oct... moreQuadcore processor need battery.Thats why most phone with quadcore have battery issues.Nokia always right, your battery will always last. If Nokia put the processor you sugessted, the reviews will read ( BATTERY PROBLEM ).
Ok ! I have a Nokia N8 and the 1020 is my upgrade.
Windows Phone OS does not require quad core for amazing performance, dual core is plenty and is best suited

This Phone is defni... morebut the review also says the BIS sensor and OIS make up for it...and besides 808pv will no longer get support from nokia in form of updates..though i agree it still produces slightly better images than this in day light....

AnonD-156746, 13 Jul 2013you dont know anything about 808pv..this phone creates great 5mp images by oversampling the da... more@Hobbit, Read the whole review and See for Your selves before you comment. This Phone is defnitely a Macho piece when you Compare with Samsung/Sony/HTC's Mobile Camera devices. The N1020, when compared with its Predecessor N808. It truly Lacks Image Quality(In the Daylight).Just Test the Images of the N1020 and N808.
I have thoroughly checked the High Resolution Images of the N1020 with the N808. Even in the daylight,The N1020 picks up noticeable Noise in the High resolution Images when you Zoom in to the max. Where as in N808, Even at the Maximum Zoom, The image quality looks Way better than N1020 and is very Sharp.
With its F2.2 and BIS, The N1020's Low Light Image Quality is only better than N808. The review itselves says Nokia has decided to make the Lumia 1020 camera sensor smaller than the one in the 808 PureView. It's 1/1.5" instead of 1/1.2" and this means it has somewhat smaller pixels - 1.12 microns instead of 1.4 microns.
If this phone is just meant for Producing High Quality Images and targeted at Amateur Photographers, My selves being a Professional Photographer,Here is my Verdict:
The Design and the features are Quite Impressive in the N1020. But however when it comes to the Image Quality Comparing with the N808. "Thumbs down".
Windows Phone 8 is a light OS so it doesn't need a very fast processor like the Exynos 5 Octa. Dual core CPU is enough for Windows Phone, instead of Android, which needs at least 4 cores to run smooth along with a 2 GB of RAM
Kk, 13 Jul 2013Camera may b 41 mp but observe it's processor.. Only dual core! It's time to have 1.8 ghz oct... moreQuad Cores and Octe Cores count for Androids that no matter how many cores you add, it is still hungry for more. Android phones need high end hardware to give average user experience. Windows Phones and iOS for that matter can deliver much better user experience in a reasonable hardware package.
I have used Android and Windows Phone and trust me, WP is way better by all means. It does not go too hard on battery and never causes any over heating problems. Android uses all that horse power just to do basic things like Photos, email, messaging and Phone calls. May be that is why Androids suck at battery life.
Kk, 13 Jul 2013Camera may b 41 mp but observe it's processor.. Only dual core! It's time to have 1.8 ghz oct... morewp8 does not need quad, like ios and bb10 dont, every wp8 has dual core processor even from samsung and htc.....wp8 with quad core would be waste be waste of battery...there wont be a need of quad core on wp8 till atleast 2014
1 solid day with low use. But with moderate to high usage, it would be lucky if it last half a day.
Kk, 13 Jul 2013Camera may b 41 mp but observe it's processor.. Only dual core! It's time to have 1.8 ghz oct... moreHey dude,Windows phone needs only less CPU.So what is the need for a 4 or 8 core processor..this also saves the battery..
Camera may b 41 mp but observe it's processor.. Only dual core! It's time to have 1.8 ghz octa core processor.. Nokia again frustating
bond007, 13 Jul 2013this ultimate worst phone is not going to save Nokia or windows phone market....Bro.. Don't scared!!
Churva""&q, 13 Jul 2013Hello everyone,I have a question regarding on the battery matters. What if the NL1020 battery ... moreBro. Battery can be changed easily.bt not at home,at service centre. :)
This is a peice of art. It looks very nice to me. Yes we expected better specs but it is not the fault of Nokia, Windows phone 8 doesn`t support quad cores for CPU nor GPU. but Microsoft promesed they will fix that before the end of the year. Anyway the specs is ok and there is the greatest camera. I wish I could afford this phone.
