I have this phone for 8 months now and I'm quite disappointed. First off, the camera isn't that all. How come?
1 - Image stabilization is horrible, definitely not like the fake samples we see on the comercials. Most of the pictures are blurried and to get a good one, you gotta stay completly quiet.
2 - Auto-focusing may take like 7 seconds to work. Till then, your chance to get the picture is gone.
3 - Video recording options are very limited. Not slow motion at all and the only quality modes are 720 and 1080. It means that you can't record a decent duration video to send someone.
4 - Xenon flash doesn't make a big difference comparing to LED flash.
5 - The pictures quality may change suddenly from each other, using the same settings.
Besides these camera issues, my Lumia 1020 frozen sometimes when I really needed it. After rebooting it, it was too late.
Last bad thing: It's a Windows Phone. I didn't think the lack of apps would be a big issue, but I missed it.
Not to mention that the customizations on the phone, in general, are VERY limited.
I'm never getting a Nokia again!
becool79, 20 Jun 2014ok I guess maybe u shld replace yr phone in warranty coz people get faulty back case tat drain... moreIup, all i have to do is to wait for the official update. I use xenon flash very rarely. So, it is just the camera eating that way. So to understand, your devices have no problem with camera eating like crazy? That should be a good sign... For me, maybe is the battrry, anyway, i,ll wait and see further what,s happening. As an example i had it charget less then 3 hours now is already 82% and i can say i used it less then medium. Also, as i read here and wrote this it took almost 10%....

But when I updated to Lumia black, the battery life became awesome. It now last beyond my expectation. I can be online as long as I want without bothering about the battery.
how do send or transfer files (videos & pics music) from pc to 1020 or vice versa
does anyone have any issues with the graphic performance of this phone?
becool79, 19 Jun 2014I am usinging lumia 1020....iam on dev pre 8.1 and battery life is decent with heavy use with ... moreThanks for the reply, but is not that. I don't complain about battery, only after i do everything is in power to do to save it. As i was saying, in standby can stay long enough. The problem is while using it. My e-mail is set to manual, i don't need it to sync every 30min, 5 hours or day. Almost any running background process for apps is blocked, i don't need any kind of auto-sync. I like to have full control over what i want to see and what not. Even though i don't have so much control over the processes (better said. NONE)as i had with Symbian. Still, battery is pretty much pathetic. I just don't understand how could Nokia put this small battery in such a demanding device. The camera is just like a hungry baby. I'm afraid to take pictures when running low and no way to charge it cause camera is just sucking the life out of this device like like eatin' candy's. I' quite upset. Anyway, one day i will get used to it or sell it...

Anonymous, 19 Jun 2014the prices are going down because Nokia want to sell their windows phone by any means possible... moreWell, the prices are going down because this phone is already a year old, like all phones prices are going down after some time.
Peter, 18 Jun 2014So, I am with the phone 7 months so far and I am completely happy with the device. And the bat... moreHi peter
I think you don't use sim net on your device and just use to capture a few shots and 20 30 and 30 to 50 min of call per day. Otherwise Lumia device can't survive a full day with net and whatsapp usage
the prices are going down because Nokia want to sell their windows phone by any means possible and start their android phones.
So, I am with the phone 7 months so far and I am completely happy with the device. And the battery life is just cool, no complaints, 1.5, 2 days in one charge. Smooth and reliable. And there is appgap no more.
Carol, 17 Jun 2014If there are lags there is something with the app i use. In rest there is no lag. The only pro... moreI switched to lumia twice. But battery life of lunia devices kicked me back to symbian and android. Even more worse than iphone or low end androids. I was using 720 and 920. About 720 they said this is the best wp8 device and battery lasts upto 1 day with heavy usage. Bla bla. But for me it couldn't hod battery for next 8 hours under my normal usage.
I use this phone as a alternative for camera and gaming like psp. Good to play with it. Kudos!!
evan 1, 16 Jun 2014does anyone have any issues with this phone? does it hangs/freezes? is it slow and laggy? If there are lags there is something with the app i use. In rest there is no lag. The only problem which i really don't like AT all, is that i'm struggling to use it more then 18 hours without battery drain. I don't know if everybody experiences this, but my 1020 does not drain the battery, it eats it. The only time i have good battery is when i'm not using it in anyway. In standby can hold till 4 days. But just 10 minutes of use and my battery is going down like seconds. 1 percent per minute. And with camera is even worse. More the 2 percents per minute. My battery is just pathetic. And believe me, i turned everything off. Formatted it twice, factory reset updates installed... All i can see is that is getting worse, not better... So now i'm in the same boat with android guys (whom i always mocked and laugh at cause of their pathetic battery's) struggling for one day of normal use with a device. This is another area Symbian is a winner. And with this Symbian wins quite allot of areas. The only thing making me not throwing it out the window is the camera and it's lovely hardware. But if nothing changes after the 8.1 official update i' thinking quite hard to sell it. I need battery, then the rest...
