> In reply to Assure @ 2014-05-22 08:34 from ITVn - click to readBefore you update to 8.1 developers version you should be aware that you are likely to void your warranty. So by upgrading you run the risk of not receiving updates from Nokia. With that in mind many would agree to take the risk and not worry about warranty or what Nokia thinks of you. As for battery life... Well all I can say is battery life on my 1520 had been improved it could easily last for 1.5 days where as before it would last for a day. Recently I had the privilege of buying the 1020. I upgraded that to 8.1 and again I can say the update is brilliant and the battery life is just superb. Whether that's due to the update well I'll never know. Ultimately upgrading to 8.1 is a risk you take but that's the decision you make. It's your phone so you decide.

It was the biggest mistake that ive done in my life.
why did I even think of byuing nokia. I just got flattered over the looks and size of the phone. This phone has normal features a black and white could have it too. And moreover WhatsApp has been removed from the store and the one I was using got crashed. What more heartbreak a smartphone user can get. It was not expected I raises bare for nokia in my friend circle but now im humiliated.

> In reply to maqsood @ 2014-05-20 23:43 from 3aes - click to readMr Maqsood, since release of developer version, worse is battery drain, lapse of camera, last it voids warranty. This is Microsoft release, Nokia has to add its perks to make it official. Upon Nokia update release wud u be able to upgrade? Just compare Lumia 630 released its hell of difference. Its ur concern ad u risked it.

> In reply to Assure @ 2014-05-20 18:27 from ITVn - click to readI've upgraded to the 8.1 developers version. I certainly have no regrets. 8.1 developers version is buttery smooth and although it's only beta stage it's very stable and I am yet to find a problem. Reading from others who have also upgraded I see no one else having regrets. So I can't work out how you have come to that conclusion!

With Immediate Effect Nokia will cease to exist, And Microsoft Mobiles will be Talk of Town.
Users who have upgraded to 8.1 on developers version are complaining, could not wait for Final Nokia OTA notification from a trouble free 8.1 windows.Who have already done with be also able to update or stay as so!

I bought my Lumia 1520 2 weeks ago and I never had problem with it. Excellent performance with reliable battery. I just updated to WP8.1 a while ago and it seems that no problems have come up. Battery seems fine, the only change in performance is that it got even better and faster. Cortana is amazing too.

Just be calm and wait till August for an official upgrade I recommend

> In reply to Assure @ 2014-05-18 17:48 from ITVn - click to readAre you sure its available in $450???

Price tag is good and yes I agree with you they are being considered nothing as compare to Android while 1520 for me its the best phone up till now.

Waiting for 1820 as its going to be of LG G3 category.

Also there are 17 different OEM working on Windows Phone.

At August, they are gonna release new Windows Phone each and every day also apps for windows are gonna gain market within 2014 and Windows 9 will be a Strong competitor for Android only then.

> In reply to rabbi.ssmc @ 2014-05-18 03:38 from 2W5B - click to readI am using this phone for about 3 months now. Battery life is good, Hardware quality and camera is also excellent. Although you will find most of the apps, but they are not as refined, and many popular apps are still missing. Several apps which are more refined and free on android are not free and not as good on WP. Some popular apps are not updated for several months if not years. There are many compromises. Live tiles on home screen and especially the apps list and settings all seems a big mess. I have updated it to 8.1, its better than what it was but still lags behind android, you should wait at least upto end of this year to see how things move for windows phone.
