ok look. love the phone's design. really sleek and robust. feels solid. have no complain. love the speed. not slow or anything. no complain on apps since i only need important ones anyway. love browsing on it, screen abit small but reading comics can even be done on it. love the camera. love the window 7 OS, looks great. looks really great. love the nokia drive and maps.
what i don't love though? first things first. the biggest f-in pet peeve i have for lumia? Zune! I hate Zune! it makes me regret buying the f-in phone. It's so hard to just transfer videos on my phone to my computer. and btw, with zune, it takes so long to friggin sign up. zune doesn't work properly. it uploads things to my comp and some other times it doesn't. when it does, sometimes it erased it straight away. Why can't this just be like android where you can drag and drop? why this insistance for Zune I don't know? that's the reason I hate iphone because of I-tunes. I gave nokia a chance and this is what I get. You can't use the phone as a mass storage which is a huge deal for me as well. It's all about functionality. If you can make do with drag and drop why the hell does the process needs to be complicated? I hate zune. I f-in hate zune and it made me hate my lumia.
lumia800_user, 28 Jun 2012iam not able to rate and review any of the apps i dwnload in marketplace...whenever i rate n r... morePlea help me...why am I not able rate n review any of the apps in marketplace..? Can anyone tell me what's wrong?
Bought this phone a week ago. I now understand why Nokia is losing money and customers hand over fist. I do like using the new windows software but there are so many missing features and faults that it makes it difficult not to switch to android. To me three missing features have killed it for me. Text size which is so tiny in SMS and calendar that it makes it hard to read, lousy battery life, and limited applications specially on the most common ones like viber which can only be used to send texts. Well Nokia you had your chance. The lumia 800 made sure that I won't even consider the lumia 900. Shame on you. I guess you will be joining blackberry wondering who hired both of your development team.
i own nokia lumia 800 since last six months two times i have updated the phone but battery problem is still there.my request for gujarati fonts to be update in nokia lumia 800 is still not solved.company should think for that & update the gujarati fonts.
No file manager, pure settings menu and other menus, no manipulation on files, SMS messages. I think it is so powerfull electronic wasted in this mobile phone. I wish it could be downgraded to older nokia software like x6 or other simbian.
Nokia lumia 800 force update works for me,this is not a Wp7.8 update.
1. Turn on airplane mode on your 800
2. Connect your Windows Phone to a PC and launch the Zune software
Click on Phone > Settings > Update. Allow the software to tell you whether an update is available. If so, skip this guide. If not continue to the next step.
3. Time to force the update. Click another button (any of the options above or below the word Update). Then click the Update button again, and this time disconnect your computer from the internet after few seconds (eg.for me it took 11sec to display the update msg"your phone is uptodate with 7.10.8107",So i counted upto 9seconds and then disabled my wifi/network.If it says your phone is already up to date, you didn't disconnect quickly enough or too late and need to try this step again.
4. Wait 30 seconds or so and Zune should display a notification that an update is available. This is 8112, the first Tango pre-update.--Install/update this.
5. Now reconnect to the internet and continue with the update process through the Zune software.
6. After 8112 is fully installed, do force update steps again to get 8773 update.
Before update 7.10.8107.79
After 1st update 7.10.8117.7
After 2nd update 7.10.8773.98
takes approx 25mins for each update depending on your phone data.
After the 2nd update is done..it will continue with "NOKIA update for windows phone"(approx 10mins)
Now the new firmware revision number is 1750.0805.8773.12220
Enjoy the new features.
Fail to understand why would anyone want to pay 24k+ for this phone..A fading fone maker coupled with a OS that has one of the lowest market share, plus a big question mark on future upgrades. You are better of buying a decent Android phone for less than 20K..Nokia has got it completely wrong this time..
windows phone 8 update is not just a normal update, its totally new and very different from wp7. even the kernel is different, native apps, and whole lot of things. developers will start concentrating more on wp8 than wp7, means less apps for wp7. so anybody in their right minds would definitely love to have this update.
wgd, 28 Jun 2012guys after the recent event about MS not going to support Windows phone 7 anymore, I'm plannin... moreWhy are you selling? Just because it wont have WP8 doesnt mean the phone will stop working.. You dont buy a phone for features you want it to have in the future, you get it based on its current features. The Lumia 800 is beautiful and it works flawlessly. Just because it will only get 7.8 instead of 8 wont make it any less useful.
[deleted post]hi the battery is very good for a touch screen phone...It is better then the I phone 4S and also the Sam Galaxy 2 i have used those two so i know and its better then any BB...In my view its the best battery on the touch screen phones the normal sized ones..Dont listen to people saying battery is not good ....Yes orignally it was very poor but after the upgrades Nokia has done a great job.

http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/lumia/apac/availability/... moreThanks. But I Ordered my phone online in Amazon. Now I am in Afghanistan and I am not able to find my phone code in this list.
guys after the recent event about MS not going to support Windows phone 7 anymore, I'm planning to sell my Lumia 800.
I previously own a Samsung Omnia 2, a Windows Mobile 6.5. When they decided to change the course of Windows Phone and abandoned WinMo, I understand their reason and I told myself that I will wait for the best winpho.
Right after I got my Lumia 800 last month, I just got the news that MS will not upgrade WinPho 7 phone to 8.
I got too frustrated that I'm thinking of selling this phone. But to whom will I sell it? Is there any reason for me to hold back?
Lumia 800 User, 27 Jun 2012Kindly I wanted to ask you, if there is somebody who can tell me if the new update (Windows 7.... morecheck it here:
your product code is at the back of your sim card holder
windows phone 8 will support micro sd cards, which is very good. wp8 will share the same kernel as w8. u will be able to play computer games on your mobiles with minor adjustments, lumias will only get wp8 skin and wont support wp8 games. bad move from microsoft!!!!!!!!!!
Lumia 800 User, 27 Jun 2012Kindly I wanted to ask you, if there is somebody who can tell me if the new update (Windows 7.... moreThe tango update I.e. 7.8version will be available in the August for lumia 800 and Apollo will be available laterly but lumia. Can't support that because it want's a dual core processor
Axl, 26 Jun 2012Take it easy... The announcement said ALL existing WP will get the 7.8.Ya, lumia 800 could upgraded to window 7.8 screen with multiple size tiles.
......excepting those essential smart features for window phone 8,
