I recently purchased a WP8 phone and it was the biggest mistake I have ever made! It is dire, it is awful, it is... indescribably BAD.
I didn't like the keyboard that came with it. I think I will change it like I can on my Galaxy S3.. No you won't say MS, you will keep the one we give you and like it. We won't allow you to change it.
I didn't like the unfriendly messaging application. I think I will change it like I can on my Galaxy S3... No you won't say MS, you will keep the one we give you and like it. We won't allow you to change it.
That is the problem, you can't customise it to suit the way you want it, you HAVE to keep what MS think you want; and what they give you is AWFUL.
The phone I purchased, a Nokia Lumia 820, is now at the top of my cupboard gathering dust; it will never be used.

920 is probably good but out of my budget :(

I'm sorry, my mistake..my pre installed app count was about 30 but I have an additional 80 apps and 7 games installed for a total app count of 117. so as you can see, with about 1.4 GB still left in internal memory, space for app installation is adequate, but will probably max out at around 100.
regarding fm radio, rumor is that the hardware is available and that it will be activated with a future software update.

> In reply to Surfer13 @ 2013-01-07 08:09 from tPIu - click to readThe 8GB internal memory, while adequate, may be a limiting factor for apps. Particularly as the microSD card can only be used for video, music and pics. I have about 30 additional apps (not counting built in apps) and 7 games installed on my Lumia 820, and my internal memory space is now 1.4 GB. So if I install a dozen apps more, it will basically be full. The 920 maybe a better option in this regard, but that said, I am not looking to fill my phone with apps.
Also be warned that Maps are stored in the phone memory, so if you download a lot of maps, again the internal memory will suffer.

If, as you state, you are going to use the phone for playing games then forget the Lumia 820; the battery is dire! For some unknown reason Nokia fitted a lousy 1650mAh one in this phone which is woefully underpowered for it. WP8 sucks the life out of the battery anyway, and I struggle to get a full days use out of a single charge just using it normally; so playing games on it will reduce that to about half a day. Nokia should hang their head in shame for fitting such a low powered battery in what could have been a nice phone.

Everything about phone looks good for my requirements and I am thinking of buying it. Though I have one question in mind, is the 8GB internal memory enough to install apps ? I am not sure how much memory is available to the user after the system apps, etc.
I am thinking on these lines coz these days there are lot of apps (esp. games) which are huge in size.
What do u think folks ?

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2013-01-06 10:27 from s0$4 - click to readAmong the phones you mentioned, the Lumia 920 would probably have the best battery life, with the Lumia 800 being lowest.
That said however, I have a Lumia 820 and I have never run out of battery life during regular use, it lasts me atleast morning to evening no matter how I use it. It has a battery saver too which disables background tasks, and on some occasions I have been able to charge once in 36 hours. So its battery life is pretty good, especially its standby life. A software update coming in Feb 2013 will reportedly improve this further, but I find the Lumia 820's battery life much better than most Androids I've used.
