I"ve used 920 for 3 months and I notice that my habit of turning off my hand phone for around half an hour after fully recharge it would forlong the battery life to the extend of most of the time to more than 24 hours
Hello! forgive me for my English haha ... but I have a question about a month ago that I have the lumia 920! Magnificent but hardly use it 10 min and it heats a lot is amazing! and also using my battery 3g I hold at most 7 hours! I read in many places that is normal but also read that there are others who say their lumia 920 holds 20 hours! itself that worries me is that it heats a lot with little use!

e.g mkv playback, rotation lock, file manager and ridiculously and most frustrating data always resides in isolated area on memory and you cannot access it anyways other than using that data on the phone itself, also add inability to send videos on Bluetooth, cannot view or attach files to email copied to device manually...
alot more are there if you want to know... I am fed up after blue i am jumping the ship.....coz i am sure if 12 months of development(gdr2) does not provide those basic required features then what microsoft can do in 3 months...nothing

Hi, I've done the Amber update on L920 last week. Now, I've noticed that the main menu (when you swipe left from the start menu) all the apps are in alphabetic order, which was the case earlier also, what is different since Amber update is each alphabet has a header (same like you get in contacts so you can click on that alphabet to directly jump to that alphabet rather than scrolling all the way up/down). Now althought it's a good feature for many users, it's a bit annoying for me. Can anyone tell me how to remove the headers? I couldnt find any options in the settings. Thanks.

More than 10 Months without ... moreYes Milan you are correct - I loved my Galaxy note 2....had iphone too but reckon it was too intrusive...the windows 8 Lumia has many wonderful features ...but still waiting for Westpac, Cenrtrelink and several other apps ...but it will happen because Win 8 is already microsoft and on computers......it will happen - yes I hate the auto screen adjustment....
abhi, 31 Aug 2013How Can I Install amber in my nokia 920 Go to Setting, Phone update, check for update. You will need wifi to update it. Alternative, connect your PC (should use Windows 7 or 8), previously you should install Windows App to Desktop.
I really tried to love Windows Phone 8. And it won't be so hard, if only MS did few further steps. I like the interface, and of the three platforms I had (iOS on iPhone 4, Android on Galaxy S3 and WP8 on 920), WP8 was IMHO the most straightforward to use. But for some reason MS has incorporated some elements into WP8, which force you to hate them. I don't get that. They put a lot of effort into developing that system and it would work well, if they just wanted. I can think of only two reasons they do not do that - either they are bunch of incompetent llamas, or they want to bring Nokia's stock down and buy it.
Yesterday I have lost my patience and went back to Android, although I know that the UI on extremely powerful Galaxy S4 lags - but at least I can do everything I need and which I was not able to do on WP8. Now I can connect to VPN (it's just absolutely unbelievable that it was not possible on WP8!), now I can lock screen orientation, now I can browse files in my phone and do whatever I want with them, now I can play all the media streams I need, now I can set the volume independently and, last but not least - as a bonus - I can enjoy many apps, which do not exist for WP8 (I know that this is not exactly Microsoft's fault, but it adds to one's frustration not to be able to use some basic apps). All these things drew me crazy and because there is no single sign that it would be better in some foreseeable future, I just lost my patience.
I am writing this as a testimonial for MS developers - it's not "or it will be late" - it already is almost late. Many people buy your phones and as hard as they try to like them, they end up hating you, cursing you (like everytime they lie in their bed and try to read something without moving the damned phone to stop it rotating the screen, for example) and finally they abandon your platform, like I just did.
People will not wait forever until "sometime", especially when it is not certain that any of the most wanted (no - needed!) features will make it into WP8.1 Blue. They just leave and they won't be coming back.
So .. think about it. Unless the thing with buying Nokia is true, of course..
