All your babbling are software issues, yep i've heard lotsa complaints about the main camera not working and stuff... n71 carries a new breed of symbiam os so it is in its boomer stage when Nokia used it with n71, n91 etc... a firmware update make be the best resort but be very careful when you do it by urself... may cause much bigger issues when done the wrong way.... Hopefully i will not stumble on the same problems you guys have, i love this phone so far... and what the hell is, ..."it can play music but it is not what its built for (or something like that..),? this phone plyas much better music that n91!... (tested thru sennheiser headsets)...

I planned of buying N71 before. With the fold closed, can you take self-photos using the main camera? I am kind of a narcissistic person; i love taking photos of me. the camera, and the ability to take self-photos using the main camera with the viewfinder facing me is really my top concern.
i have now my N93i but it disappoints me when I knew that I cannot take good self-photos with it (except when you use the front camera, which resolution is not good). I thought I can twist the viewfinder to myself while the main camera facing me, but no! It doesn't work that way. I still have to twist the viewfinder to the other side, making taking self-photos a difficult task (try, and try, and try? that's a lot of hard work).
can you guys email me if N71 does what I want for a phone? i don't visit this site very often so please kindly send your answers to my site zangcaesar[dot]com as comment. i would appreciate it. although N71 is now rather not sold by Nokia, I believe there are those who can sell it for me as second-hand. thanks!

this id the worst phone i have ever had, nokia should be ashamed and they should give a new phone to every owner of this horrible phone!!! i bought it and on the 10th day its camera stopped working. it was on a 6 month repair, and after the 5 day it stopped working again!!!!!!!! i am going to run over this phone when i buy a new one, i haaaaaateeeeee it!!!!! i updated the software and the new one is even worser!!! in restarts on every call, and the speaker is quieter then before. in am so disapointed i am just angry i hate it!!!!

Guys,
Had the same problem for about 8 mos ago, then i've learned from a friend that all I need it a so called "Black-out Reformat" where in ur cp's OS and application will be remove just like reformating your PC.. And it worked for me!!! TRY IT GUYS

I have the problems like the others have said, I love the Nokia N71 very much but it dissapoints me when it says MEMORY FULL DELETE SOME DATA i have tried to delete all un-necessary data but still it demands to delete some data, another problem is ntework conncetion is not available at no reason, another problem is sms sending, it takes 1 minute for one sms to be sent, it reboots its self at no reason, pls if you have any way to solve these problems help me pls I like the phone

had this phone for nearly 18 months. 2mp camera stopped working after 6 months for no reason (not dropped or wet...just quit working). OS is uberslow... sending a text takes near a minute. Also crashes and resets for no apparent reason.
It is by far the sloppiest designed and worked out nokia I ever owned. Like everyone else, the screen has mega scratching all over which is clearly a design flaw in my opinion. I recommend against purchasing this phone. Either a different brand, or another N-model would work much better for most.

it's a nice phone...by functions 'n look...but scratches on the screen are unavoidable...as 'm using it from last 1 year...i got the scratches in the very 1st week...

n71 id great but with some problem i encountered .afteramonth of usage the main camera malfunction...since i like the unit i bought another one again but after 3 months of usage the same defect happened...does this mean the unit is engineered with this defect...the scratches is only secondary for me....

Great reliable phone I picked up recently .
I went back to using this model instead of my new LG KU990 as it is a touch phone and a pointer which I do not like.
My other phone N95 was stolen in Hongkong.
My old N71 bit the dust when it fell off the bar and landed on the floor .
ALL functions failed and the hatch holding the memory card snapped off.
Moral - dont take your phone to the pub.
N95 internet function is excellent

oh...i like this phone so much from all of my previous ang latest phone becoz the camera is very good, good quality and really brings out a perfect picture. its stylish bcoz of its clam shell appearance its classy bcoz of its stainless matte finished and the keypad is very good...its one of the N-sreies family that really has the good quiality from its features! the only problem of this phone is the scratch mark from the keypad to the screen...day by day its shows a big scratch and beginning to look not good!

My 2MP Camera is NOT WORKING!
Had problems with SIM not identified and
the screen scratches endlessly.
Should have bought the N70 if I know this would happen! NOKIA you should talk to your responsible phone designer and let him know this is the WORST Nokia design ever
