I have upgraded the Firmware to the latest in N73. THe problem I have if I set an alarm it should work even when the phone is off,but it is not working. any help please
Those who are confused between N73 and K800, ask yourself the following questions for K800:
- Does K800 have Symbian OS 9.1/Series 60v3?
- Does it have a large 2.4 inch screen?
- Does it have the same “ease of use” as Nokia?
- Can you install 3rd party applications? (Except crappy java apps)
- Does it have EDGE?
- Is it Quad-band? (GSM 850/900/1800/1900)?
- Does it have 3D sound STEREO speakers?
- Does it record video in CIF (352x288 resolution)?
- Does it have Push-To-Talk?
- Does it have Active Desktop?
- Etc. Etc. Etc.
The only few advantages are – Xenon flash and A2DP stereo audio over Bluetooth, and very few or no bugs! Not being able to install 3rd party applications is a HUGE disadvantage – for e.g. you can’t install a beautiful application like Smartmovie! You’ll have to watch pathetic 3GP videos, that’s all. You’ll miss the world of good videos on your phone. You can’t install Yahoo! Messenger, Zip manager, Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), Adobe Reader, Flash Player, Antivirus, Task Manager, etc. on K800. But you can on N73!
So if you’re really looking for “features” after spending a large sum of your money, then N73 is THE phone. But if you’re STILL thinking of K800 after all this, then you’re in love with K800, so go for K800 – because if you force yourself into buying N73, you’ll still keep missing K800 and that’ll make you dislike the N73 (just human mindset, that’s all). I don’t think K800 is worth all the money JUST for the good camera (unless you’re filthy rich and got money at your disposal). My point is – if you’re spending so much, do expect some features in return! Not that I'm a Nokia fan and I'm bashing up SE, but I just simply look for more features!
Even I went for N73 because of its features. I completely agree that there are lots of software bugs in the N73. I am facing lots of problems due to bugs in the software. But that problem will be solved by later firmware updates.

You’re right that Nokia is in a rush. I think Nokia had target to release 40 new models in the market in 2006. So they’re struggling to achieve that target, and can’t find time for quality software in the phones. They’ll be fixed in later firmware updates though. Even I’m facing lots of software problems.
@yue
To remove the memory card, you have to push the card inside a bit till you hear a click, then let it go and it’ll pop out.

I had the same problem which i have now fixed.
If you have loaded your own music for ring tones through PC suite(copy & paste) the phones music player doen't recognise that the tracks are on the phone therefor when you receive a call the fone has a fit & shuts down. What you need to do is send the tracks 1 @ a time via blutooth as a msg then the fone's music player will recognise the music you have selected as a ring tone...

Hi pls help to tell me how to remove memory card ? need to push or use something to take out ?
I am a very unhappy owner of a Nokia N73. Sad because I was very happy with several Nokia phones I have owned. My first was a Nokia 6110 (I used this for four years), Nokia 7110, Nokia 6310, Nokia 6610 and two Nokia 6610i. Unfortunately my latest N73 IMEI: 351851011354108 is so troublesome.
Is it possible that your company in the rush to beat other mobile phone manufacturers is rushing untested units into the market place and just follow up with software upgrades which themselves are not fully tested?
Please help me they keep giving me the run around here in the Philippines, customer service / satisfaction is not a strong point in my country.
It has been to your NOKIA Service Center on Unit 2 & 3 Lansbergh Place on 170 Tomas Morato Ave. cor. Scout Castor, Quezon City, Philippines
The phone is currently with them the third time. The first time when the phone was barely two weeks old the upgraded the software. I had to bring it back a few days after because the hang and crush became worst. The last time I brought it was last Sunday November 19 where in I brought it in a hang state while trying to open a TEXT message.
They gave me this JO No. 00102842 last Sunday. They promised to make a technical report about the phone tomorrow. At NOKIA Service Center on Lansbergh Place, I was attended to very courteously by Russell and Sheila.
Hi guy,
I bought Nokia n73 from mobilecityonline but it's not in U.S. warranty so I'm afraid that I can break while upgrade firmware and I can't fix it in U.S.
Do you know the shop or place that I can upgrade or repair my phone if it broken?
Thanks....

Hi people.
I bought the N73 a couple of days back - after reading the reviews about the same i was in two minds whether or not to take this phone because of the amount involved - but i decided to go ahead for the past couple of days it's been fantastic - altough i am a tech savvy person it took me a bit time to get used to phone the main advantages which the phone has as listed earlier -
The screen is fantastic
the battery life is amazing
the camera quality for picture and video is marvelous - no word for it
and the music quality is even better than the Walkman phones as i have use a W800i earlier
the main diadvantages
the keypad is small (my fingers are big aswell)
the phone is a bit heavy
apart from that the phone is fantastic as well as a style statement in itself - i love the phone
i have put in a 1GB memory card and it still works fine the S?W version which my phone is having is -
v 2.0628.0.0.3
RM-133
