I'm a big fan of Symbian. Nokia knows it's importance on investing more in the software business. It's the software that brings us all back to the S60 platform. Overall the N78 is stable, reliable and fast.
The phones looks tempting but NOKIA please GIVE us QWERTY NSeries with 2.8" screen.

first about the music.. u say 24songs.. lets say each song 5mins then total two hrs.. pls check the battery life till the end and come back again. u should get atleast 10hrs max. the 24hr playback is in flight mode or offline mode.. that is u cannot make any phone calls or anything so lot of power is saved since it doesnt search for a network.
about the fp2.. yes people have mixed opinion especially people just coming out of fp1. u will not find it xciting since u already had an n82 which itself is quite good. only older symbian users might find it interesting.
and did u feel that the screen is better than the n82.. maybe a lot brighter and clearer? wut abt the navi-wheel? was it worth losing out on the accelerometer?

N78 is for the looks, for now no S60 phone can match its UI looks
N82 is for performance, speed and stability, no other phone can beat N82 INSANE speed.

Hi guys,no doubt i am agreat nokia fan.Ihave sold my N82 and bought N78 1 week ago in LAHORE at 490$.Keeping in mind some of its key points i.e,
1.Great Battery
2.Great Music
3.Newer, Reliable and Faster Operating system FP2
4.Slim and Light Weight
But i frankly tell you ''ALL THAT GLITTER IS NOT GOLD''
Firstly its battery very poor Nokia says 24hrs music playback oh! by playing only 24 songs its first 2-3 bars droped,which normally takes much time than the remaining ones,so you can imagine remaining bars will take how much time.
2ndly Music no doubt it is good to the level it can loud ,but it is even less louder than n82(latest firmware)so what is the benifit.
3rdly FP2 which was considered the whole n78,it has nothing that will excite you(like excited me)even slower but it does not hang.
The $th point is right but the keys are very hard and more is that ,call answer call end and right selection keys will bother you.
so my suggestion is that we should buy n82(i must say nokia leader)or the best is that should wait for anoter one maybe this time nokia will not make us silly obviously when they will examine N78s sales.

Hey all. I am so confused about the N78. Some people say the loudspeakers sucks, some people say the loudspeaker are good. Can someone please give their hounest experiance about the loudness and qaulity of the LOUDSPEAKERS of the N78, and how it's loudspeakers differs from the N81. Please. Thanks.

I saw this phone awhile ago here in Park Square 1 (manila) looks like the N82. Their price range is almost the same. Why would anyone get this phone when the n82 has alot more to offer with the same price as this?...any comment?

Can somebody check whether the radio has RDS option? Seems that it doesn't appear in the specs, but gets mentioned in the manual.

What seems to be the consensus is this will be good phone but it isn't yet because Symbian 3.2 isn't read yet.

you both should also consider the n82. In my opinion you will like it. Also its cheaper than the n78.

Nokians today are not properly naming their N-series phones. N82 should have named N95-1 n vice versa. N95 is such a feature packed fone, but they used a lower Amperage battery that sucks!!! Why do they do like that?

Nice features thats good on N78.
The music player and radio is good. Agree with sarmad.
Display is also good.
I use a lot of FM transmitter and its a treat. Transmit good quality of music to my car audio.
UPnP support is INTERESTING. Home media! Wish that nokia include a full version that is free.
PTT is also a treat at project site and plant proved to be usefull.
Speaker is ok but just... Im hearing impaired! ;P
Camera and photo software is good.

Sarmad i have no problems with the camera flash.
I do however encounter some hiccups while using the transmitter.
And 1 wierd display color distortion while going out from keypad lock.
