[deleted post]As I already thinking that your are Samsung fanboy crying here for your Samsung. S9000 - its a joke and do you think Samsung will support it..? Never. Samsung has promised that Omnia hd will also offer video editor but it was not available. Samsung is going to be a untrusted company. I think you better know that how frustated Samsung Behold owners are going to sue Samsung.
Niraj, 31 May 2010Good but still I'm not much impressed by Wave as I have impressed by X10 in first right. If I ... moredid YOU SEE APP STORE????
Samsung make 300 apps for BADA OS!
Listen... Samsung now have FIRST PERSONAL OS and
and of course we will develop software for it, because it will depend on the other ...
Anonymous, 31 May 2010i think that anyone who thinks that nokia is dying obviously knows nothing about phones and se... moreaahhh c'mooon... don't be funny!
in N8 is NOTHING INNOVATIVE!!!
This is a year old technology...
See some Samsung projects from januar 2009 - jun 2010 and all component from N8 i am already seen in Samsung... except Xenon flash and FM transmitter... (for real, we don't need this)...
Anonymous, 31 May 2010Sorry, wrong video :P See this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gdn9Zo6Oj-UGood but still I'm not much impressed by Wave as I have impressed by X10 in first right. If I have to choose any other phone besides N8, then it will be X10. Because SE is trustable not like Samsung who always release tons of phones and forget them all.
Mark, 31 May 2010Hi Tom,
I think SE is a good company, like Nokia, but lifetime support in my mind does not ... moreMark, with the specs Nokia N8 have, you can start to believe it wont support any future OS'es from Symbian.
And the thing you don't get is that, going from Android 2.1 to 2.2 doesn't needs to have the TimeScape or MediaScape to be build up from scratch. Some few code changes are only needed there. because Android 2.1 and 2.2 is 98% the same.
To Android 3.0 Sony Ericsson most likely have to create TimeScape and mediaScape from scratch again.
But why wouldn't they do that?, they needs something to do to keep their customers happy you know.
Sony Ericsson is not the company that releases a phone like XPERIA X10 and then makes us to buy a new phone after 1 year because they are releasing a new phone that are a new updated version of the X10 and then just stops to support the X10 because a new and improved version of X10 is out.
Your horribly wrong here if you think that.
Yes, i think it's a good idea to let a company like Sony Ericsson to controll the OS releases they are giving us to the XPERIA X10. Because a nice and good UI from a company over other companies is always good.
There wouldn't really be any points to buy a phone like XPERIA X10 if it have just been a normal Android release with standard skins and so on.
Many peoples are buying the XPERIA X10 because of how nice the phone looks and because the nice UI the OS have that are made by Sony Ericsson.
And to you last point. The day Nokia will go so far to update Nokia N8 to Symbian ^4, then i will start to take Nokia as a more good company.
Because that will show that they will gives you good big major updates instead of giving you some few new features with some bug fixes in the same OS as it have been running from the beginning.
[deleted post]i think that anyone who thinks that nokia is dying obviously knows nothing about phones and selling statistics
man nokia is the best seller world wide
and is innovative. take the N8 it's got features found in few phones.
or take my N900 i had the 3GS and i have been using the X10 for over a week and it is nothing compared to it. nokia does stand between the best and no other can compete
Tom-Helge, 31 May 2010Lifetime support is still lifetime support, so the XPERIA X10 will get Android 3.0 by that sta... moreHi Tom,
I think SE is a good company, like Nokia, but lifetime support in my mind does not mean you will get new versions indefinitely. My points were:
Do you really think SE will recreate Timescape etc every time Android releases a new version, for the lifetime of your device? That is VERY unlikely, and thus not futureproof.
Do you think it is a good idea to have one company control the OS, the direction of the OS, the release schedule of the OS, the functionality of the OS, the architectural choices of the OS, both for you as a consumer, as well as SE. SE have no control over these updates. If Google release a new one, they need to rush and get their UI layer in order. Do you think this is a wise business practice in the long run for SE, and that that will benefit you? Look at the NXS1, no Skin, immediate 2.2. Not so much for the X10, correct?
The fact that your device could run 3.0 HW wise, does not negate the fact that the N8 could run S^4. Do you agree that if the HW can run the OS smoothly, it is irrelevant what is in the "Black box" Would you also be so kind as to admit that you just assumed S^4 cannot run on the N8. (irrespective if it will be officially supported)
Lets just stick to these 3 for now. I have to say, I did mention all of these already....
and just see this:
and compare, spped, browse, kinetic scroll, kastor effects bla bla...
PRICE RANGE IS EQUVIVALENT!
but... Wave is much better phone!
You see this video Niraj?
That is fact what i talk!
any options press and wait for laggy answer 1-1,5 sec....
it's like Omnia HD... i told you!
I think some one is still posting against N8.. Keep voting dude. I think you are very poor man and some one paying you. Thats good, atleast you can earn food to survive your life, we Nokia fans will not die due to this and for we N8 will remains best.. Really I feel sorry for you..
[deleted post]Lifetime support is still lifetime support, so the XPERIA X10 will get Android 3.0 by that statement.
And no, Sony Ericsson are not like Samsung who promise Android 2.0 to Samsung Behold II and only gets Android 1.6.
Thank god Sony Ericsson is not with a bunch of lying peoples.
When Sony Ericsson says XPERIA X10 will have lifetime support, it will have it no matter what you might find to say.
And since you mentioned that, what was the other points you said i had to answer?.
And Niraj, learn to say my name right :-).
Nokia is making tons of money. They dont bother Nokia haters because at the end of the day , they still make money and ppl still buy Nokia..........They knew that they cant please every billion ppl in the world , so why bother when majority are buying its brand and happy with it.
Actually Tom Hedge is quite annoying me but he is also telling facts. While most of the Nokia haters are just barking like kid and dont able to answer my any question.. They just hate Nokia.. And giving some silly facts.
[deleted post]Never going to happen. Because when Nokia realize they are loosing market share, they adopts Android, you know what will going to happen.
[deleted post]I have already answered that type of posts.. Search and read my that post. I bet you dont have any answer.. Why dont you simply tell me which phone I should over N8.
[deleted post]Then can you please tell me I should go for which phone..?
Today, two of Nokia's Symbian^1 devices have got firmware updates.
One is 5530 XpressMusic with major update pushing kinetic scrolling throughout the UI, new media player with album art preview, updated browser with automatic shift to full screen mode, OVI sync, new version of OVI music client, few bug fixes and performance improvements are the things to delight device owners.
Other device to get update is N97/N97 Mini. Its a small update comparatively and is right now limited to few product codes. Update includes new versions of some services and performance improvements.
Posting all this stuff here in N8 forum to ensure all those wannabe owners of N8 that Nokia's support is really good and you can always be sure that your Nokia device would be getting new features/services/improvements atleast for a year. They never forget you unlike some other manufacturers.
