no way, maybe in 2015
Tom-Helge, 16 May 2010The only good thing i can find with this phone is the camera and the HD recording. And that's ... moreAre you some kind of "expert" or just anopther LAMEO like so many others posting without a clue. Anonymous, 16 May 2010i dnt think so battery life of BL-4D is good 4 this ph. bcoz BL-4D is used in N97 mini & ... moreit's AMOLED, so way lower power consumption...make the difference before posting...
I dont think others will offer good price for these specs
dont forget free nav ovi maps
This Phone has very good specs except the display resolution. This is my next phone.
excellent phone have best features device to have ever, majorly 12mp hd,sym 3 ,nokia qt,&java aap,web tv,fm transmitter and many more at very magical price could have been more better with 4" display, slow motion video rec ,tv tuner with tv recording but still very much capable of being any ones desire phone
The only good thing i can find with this phone is the camera and the HD recording. And that's basicly all that's good with this phone.
The rest is just outdated. Poor resolution. Kinda poor CPU. The screen is meh, because AMOLED sucks outside in sun, so i rather have a TFT screen.
And the OS on the phone is just fail.
So anyone who buys this phone buys it for the camera and HD recording, and nothing else.
i dnt think so battery life of BL-4D is good 4 this ph.
bcoz BL-4D is used in N97 mini & all N97 mini users saying its battery life sucks... N8 hv 3.5 screen bigger thn N97 mini thn hw its possible????
wrong Specification as my opinion....
wht do u think guys???
With the good price and good specand brand new symbian version
what more can you ask for?
Add 4" screen? Larger res? 1ghz processor?
Then you must pay nokia euro 100+50 more
50 is for nokia to charge you for making limited editon, so total is eoro 520 ; it is still a good price for those people who are difficulty to please
Quite good specifications, superb camera, only thing i'm disappointed about is the symbian ^3 (hopefully it won't be a disappointment) and the 3.5" screen with a relatively low resolution. Come on, a larger screen and a higher resolution could have been implemented in this phone...
Mihai, 16 May 2010LOL, guys! I did not lost my mind nor I see everything through my eyes only. ;) I agree with y... moredude you are flashing the same sh!t again...we are NOT insane...i would like to tell again n8 cannot replace panasonic g1..its is not meant for replacing hollywood camera either..if anyone think opposite, then he is wrong...
I find it interesting that a lot of commentary about the N8 usually results in comparing it to flagship phones from competitors. Flagship phones usually priced at 30% to 50% about the N8's suggested retail offering. I suppose the consumer is going to decide if an N8 at EURO 370 / USD 499 is delivering value relative to the rest of the field. I personally do not think Symbian ^3 is a game changer relative to Apple OS4 or Android 2.2...but with its significant improvements and its marriage to well spec'd hardware...I do believe the consumer will notice a BIG difference and that attitudes will turn very positive on Nokia's ability to deliver a fantastic platform at such a competitive price point. I will go for the N8...it's offering too much value to ignore.
koko, 16 May 2010no infrared port :((((((((((((((proximity sensor can be used as IR port....
Mihai, 16 May 2010LOL, guys! I did not lost my mind nor I see everything through my eyes only. ;) I agree with y... moreWho telling you to use N8 to shoot photographic stills? When people get out to photography they go prepared with SLR's not Phone but there's some situations that a photographer will kill to get but don't have their camera with then they can use a brilliant camera mobile like N8 to catch the moment as close to digicam quality as possible. And about HD video?? Check out vivaz video's. Like I said they are as close to HD as possible. So kindly stop senseless talks.
You know guys...this phone is now facing sevaral challanges...
1. To beat the camera of Samsung W880 AMOLED (Though its only for korea) which is the 1st ever 12MP with optical zoom (should be easy).
2. To beat Vivaz's HD video (Not so easy because camera sensor largeness has little to do with video recording, its entirely software and processor dependant).
3. To at least match Omnia HD's AMOLED screen (Beating it would be impossible and Wave, beam, galaxyS super AMOLED screen is out of question).
4. To match the speed performance of Arm cortex A8 600MHz powered N900 (iPhone 3GS Not possible)
5. To get close to 5800's loud speaker with a louder mono speaker.
6. To match 5800 audio quality.
7. To get close to android UI flexibility and comfort.
8. To match the video playback capabilities of Omnia HD by including more formats like Divx/Xvid up to 720p (Nokia didn't comfirm it like they did with N900) because 3rd party apps like core, smart movie won't play 720p even if they play Divx/Xvid up to VGA.
9. To beat the Xenon flash power of SE C905 (Pixon12 and Satio failed).
10. To have a competative net browser (Symbian^1 browser was a failure).
If N8 stands up to these challanges than the phon will be another revolutionary N95 (and my next phone)...otherwise, a usual Nokia FAILURE.(N96, N97 etc.)...anyone dare to disagree with me??
Scorpions, 16 May 2010Totally agree and Mihai has lost its mind.
He sees world thru only his way and everyone els... moreLOL, guys! I did not lost my mind nor I see everything through my eyes only. ;) I agree with you Scorpions and Anonymous(except the chill pill lol ) I have nothing against cellphones and their evolution and their "all in one" method. If I had something against them I would have not bought a 550 euro cellphone last month ;) About the comparison you made between Panasonic G1 and N8(or any other phone)...pardon moi, but are you insane? How can you say that N8 is better than G1?! I dare you to take a photo with your phone and another one with the camera(same light, same conditions, same environment etc)and then let me know. ;)
In the near future I expect to see people saying that phones can beat HD cameras :D I say let's call Steven Spielberg and the other bunch of guys in Hollywood and tell them to get rid of their expensive cameras an buy some cellphones instead. This way they can save some money and get equal or even better performance.:D
Now, letting the jokes aside, these phones are indeed good for "point and shoot" events, but do not daydreaming. If you want to take photos(like real photos!)or real HD filming buy a dedicated photo or video camera.
Oh, by the way,I'm not here to argue... peace!
