Tom-Helge, 16 May 2010Well first of all, i have been working with mobiles phones for many many years. So i kinda kno... morehave you even looked at the specs of SE Vivaz and Xperia X10? N8 beats Vivaz hands down. depending on what you use your phone for X10 may be better, but i'd rather symbian^3 than android 1.6, N8 has better camera with xenon flash, 720p video, free gps with voice guidance, more space to store apps (X10 can only have 512 MB for apps!!! ridiculous). only advantage X10 has is more powerful CPU but that *does not* mean it will be faster overall. N8 will be cheaper than overpriced SE. and since its a nokia the N8 is guaranteed to have better after-purchase support in terms of firmware updates etc. OK?
4" super AMOLED display, 480x800 wvga resolution, arm cortex a8 hummingbird processor, android OS..this are the high-end specs of the new generation phone..
I hope the battery of this phone is powerful, cause its useless if its not?
Just to reply to you! Have you seen info about that battery up there pall??? It says Li-Po 1200 mAh (BL-4D) ...
It's Lithium Polymer, Lithium Polymer have much lesser power dissipation! It's used as next gen in electric vehicles dude!
That phone will not be under 750 Euros!!! Here you go
This phone remind me of good price 5800
then nokia released n97 with slight better spec
i am still think that we will see better spec symbian phone than this phone in nokia world and n900 successor
Scorpions, 16 May 2010This is INSANE.
U R talking exactly the same thing but in other words.
No one expects/be... morethe problem with dedicated cam/camcorders is that they are never there when we need them. Its better to settle for slightly lower quality photos than to bring a digi-cam wherever we go. The lack of optical zoom on cellfones is the biggest problem, but for regular ppl taking occasoinal photos it really doesnt matter much. And for a pro, he would not use any of the consumer level digicams anyway, right? So i think camphones are good enough for 95% of us, the other 5% have special ionterest in photography and would not settle for anything less than a SLR where each of his lenses alone would cost more tha N8.
Still, that doesnt make N8 a good smartphone, hi res cam and low res display sums it up, those are the big advantage and the big disadvantage.
Mihai, 16 May 2010LOL, guys! I did not lost my mind nor I see everything through my eyes only. ;) I agree with y... moreThis is INSANE.
U R talking exactly the same thing but in other words.
No one expects/believes/think that they can replace their dedicated camcorder or Camera with a mobile device.
What we expect is an option of clicking a photo or shooting a video clip in the best quality an Mobile device can offer.
So I agree with you that Mobile device cannot replace dedicated devices but then here we are comparing Mobile devices and I just want to make a point.
N8 is the best a mobile device in terms of Camera. offer. Again somewhat made a point about Samsung with true optical zoom but thats not released everywhere and I don't have access to it.
Anonymous, 16 May 2010Are you some kind of "expert" or just anopther LAMEO like so many others posting wit... moreWell first of all, i have been working with mobiles phones for many many years. So i kinda know what i'm talking about.
Secondly. Tell me why i should buy a Nokia N8 over a Sony Ericsson Vivaz or XPERIA X10?.
I can't find ANY reasons at all to buy a N8 over the 2 SE phones. The SE phones takes pretty good pictures already.
So i rather have a phone with way way better specs and with a good camera already than this Nokia phone.
So until someone gives me some VERY good reasons to buy this phone over other phones with better specs and that, then i wont buy this phone.
I have seen the Symbian^3 demos. It is not a game changer like Meego...nor is it intended to compete head to head with Apple OS4 or Android 2.2, like Symbian^4. HOWEVER, it does address key problems in the Synmbian^1 UI and will likely appeal to a much larger audience as a result. Given its marriage to the N8 hardware, I think we will all be pleasantly surprised by the new user experience. For sure, it will not compete on eye candy and yes, it's screen resolution is not for a flagship...but then again...it is NOT meant to be Nokia's next flagship. Actually, at its price point, I am sure the competitors are worried about their flagship sales. The N8 is a game changer...nothing compares in terms of total VALUE in this market and for the next 12, maybe 18, months. Nokia's scale is demonstrating benefit to the consumer.
koko, 16 May 2010no infrared port :((((((((((((((Come on Koko who uses infra red anymore, bluetooth has been invented you know.
