terjim2, 09 Jan 2014No it does not allow me choose. the option for both is not even there.
How do I upgrade to ... moreIt has fixed some Belle bugs, more memory, more widgets, already hacked, faster etc. You can read about it here:
As for apps and games you'd have to reinstall them, but when Delight gets updated, they stay. This is just a suggestion if you can't get Belle. I got my phone with Belle Refresh already installed so I'm not an expert in flashing. It's 3 in the morning here so talk tomorrow! ;-)
MdN8, 09 Jan 2014I'm mostly here or just looking around on DailyMobile forum and some others... I see I already... moreI hope the applications and games I installed on my Anna OS will work for the Delight firmware you advised

How do I upgrade to the Delight? Is it more preferable to Belle? or why should I upgrade to Delight (it is only a question)?
terjim2, 09 Jan 2014Where can I go if I need your help and assistance?I'm mostly here or just looking around on DailyMobile forum and some others... I see I already gave you Carol's instructions, but if Belle is not an option and you just got Anna then maybe it's not available for your phone? Maybe Carol will know better, check out again tomorrow...
Would you consider upgrading to custom firmware instead? Like Delight, it's the same as Belle but a little improved. And seems to be easy enough to do.
As for 2G/3G, if you go to Settings - Connectivity - Network, does it let you choose Network Mode? 2G = GSM.
Stupid me, 31 Dec 2013Happy New Year everyone! Here is wishing only wonderful things for you in 2014. May all your w... morecan you lend me the same assistance been given to you so I can upgrade my N8 from Anna to Belle. thanks
MdN8, 27 Dec 2013Anyone wants some presents?
MrAlshahawy (creator of Belle Extra Buttons) made 16 of his apps... morecan you simply help me out with my nokia n8? i upgraded it to anna instead of belle using nokia suite. i tried using my phone and the nokia suite to check for update to know if i can have belle os as an option but could not find it. how can you help me step by step in having my phone upgraded to belle instead of anna.
secondly, my anna does not use 2g network. it is fixed on 3g network and does not have features to switch it to 2g network. i hope the belle os has 2g network because the 3g network makes my phone hot after few moments of browsing which consumes my battery life at an high rate.

So guys, apparently Symbian is still not DEAD>:).
Flood them, and maybe they will flood us
Stupid me, 08 Jan 2014Oops! I did not see your post in time. I had put the camera on automatic. I’ll try “landscape... moreDon't worry, standard camera app can do almost everything unless you obsess about hyperfocal vs infinity, center vs auto exposure and some other stuff, which doesn't say you'd get better photos. I'm just trying to have enough practice and knowledge to be able to get the camera out of the way of taking good photos. Actually, it's a common fact that women take better photos because they do NOT obsess about technical stuff, so use that to your advantage. Men have to learn a lot to get to the same level of ignorance. ;-))) Just learn how to use it and you're set. The few fast settings probably cover 95% of situations, and there's finer stuff further in the menu. Carol explained the "tiny symbols" well. :-)
I downloaded CameraPro off some website first, it just stood there until I had time to see what it's about, then I started using it and finally I bought it straight from the developer's page (tequnique.com) the other day = no money to Nokia, and (hopefully) I get updates on time. He's one of the few devs still updating his apps.
Well I'm not much of a parrot guy so I had no idea if those were breeds or personal names, sorry! :-)
By the way, did you try to set up your email? Some say that automatic email setup stopped working too, a few days ago (thanx Nokia).

Stupid me, 08 Jan 2014Oops! I did not see your post in time. I had put the camera on automatic. I’ll try “landscape... moreLandscape scene is totally something else then landscape position of the screen:). Automatic Scene is for simply take and shot. Sadly, not always is the best condition (scene) to use. I always use landscape for objectives further then 15 meters. "Landscape" does not use auto-focus, it uses so called fixed focus, or infinity focus. Meaning that everything in a frame will come out as sharp as your camera can go. This is a rule, and it's a rule applied for objectives that are far enough. Now that doesn't mean all cameras are good on that. There are allot of cameras that take crappy pics even in landscape mode. N8 has a good build for landscapes, takes allot of light in and i never had a problem holding it with my hands. Some cameras need tripods to take crisp landscape shots, even profi ones. Don't use automatic mode for objects further then 20 meters. Will come good, but could be more sharp if landscape mode is used. I use automatic only on objects that are 5m away for me. This i calculate with my eye, so 5m is not something strict, is something that i think:)). Close-up u already know what is for. Portrait is what is told. Is the better scene for crisp portraits. It can also be used in bright light, when the sun comes wright up front your camera sensor. The light will darken your photo for everything that is near but portrait uses the flash, so in this case, if you have somebody in front of you but there is to much light so you need to turn away from light, just use portrait, you will be able to see the one in front of you along with the other stuff. You can get great effects from this. "Sport" is just for moving objects, i used it rarely. But it is useful. Night portrait just lifts up the ISO for the night condition. That's about it with the scenes in N8. I would like to have more but...
hi gud eve i need some help guys.
how to delete all the installation logs?i think it consumes memory. pls reply tnx
RALPH, 08 Jan 2014hi good day to every one how can i transfer my memory from the phone memory to the mass storag... moreHi,
Logs don't use much memory.
If you want to uninstall an app, find it in menu, long press on the icon, Delete. Deleting them from home screen just removes a shortcut. Or you can go to Settings - Installations - Already installed - long press on the name and choose "Remove".
If you want to transfer apps from phone memory to mass storage you have to uninstall them and install them again to E:
You can find some more tips about cleaning memory here:
MdN8, 07 Jan 2014For mountains, use the "landscape" setting. :-D
Or "night" if it's dark.... moreOops! I did not see your post in time. I had put the camera on automatic. I’ll try “landscape” next time when it is sunny (hopefully tomorrow). Tell me, is setting the camera on landscape different from simply turning the camera horizontal? I mean, like what advantage will I gain setting the camera as opposed to just manually turning it horizontal? That is what I did. The camera interface looks the same to me but I can’t say for sure because I never paid attention to it. I just took shots by guess. I’ll go and read up the manual because I don’t know what those tiny symbols mean :-D. That sure indicates my level of interest :-D. Now, after seeing Carol’s close-ups, I want to try that.
Oh dear! You missed the multiplication of the parrot! I got up one morning and saw two. I think binary fission went on overnight and there was uneven distribution of the plasma. So, one ended up small and ten times as vicious as the original larger one :-))))). Seriously though, I did tell you about me taking out photos of my vicious Pionus as she tried to bathe in her little water bowl. She always does that when it rains. Those photos came out OK. I also told you about the other larger playful one (Yellow Shoulder Amazon) that almost hanged himself.
Well, I am relieved that the vibration is not some defect. I thought something went wrong with the upgrade. Funny how you and Carol hold opposite views of Camera Pro – just when I was thinking of buying it. Seems it is too advanced for me :-))).
