lol nobody in here has a clue about anything.M@T2 is ip for opera mini.N81 is a very ordinary device with various faults.Dedicated Nokia/s60 forums seem totally uninspired or even interested in this duck.

Ye bra,Cell C sells them sim free and unbranded when you buy it cash, mine is totaly unbranded,generic N81.
Thanx for the site bra, when you get yours just tell me, il give you a site where i get apps free.

The WiFi should work with most if not all routers since it supports both B and G Wifi standards.
The sound is great on this phone, has a lot of Bass and Treble, and it seperates instruments VERY well due to its DSP.

I found this site ages ago, free symbian s60 9 v3 applications! softwares! themes! games! the games and themes and softwares are great there! its www.mobile9.com ...then just search for stuff for your phone, though they dont have N81 specific software and games YET,thy will soon!

I have had mine for over two weeks now and I am very happy and very satisfied. I can't fault it at all. It is a nice looking mobile with awesome features. I went from a Nokia N73, hated it and got the Sony K800I which I also sold because I didn't like it. Now I finally have a mobile that I love and enjoy using. Go for this model, best nokia made. This also came with a 2GB memory card in the box which was nice to see considering the N73 only came with a 128MB. Nokia N81 RULZ

Even though this phone uses UMTS that isn't compatible in the US. does the wifi of this phone atleast work and is operational? thanks.

But the sound via headset isn't very good.Do you think a firmware upgrade will fix this?I agree with Microphone being sub standard but that dosen't bother me as I hardly ever use it.As far as I have seen bluetooth seems ok.Nice phone.

Im on a Vodacom Talk130 contract and had a N80, but when i saw this baby i had to have it, Vodacom didn't have it so i went and bought it at Cell C sim free and unlocked so im using it with my Voda sim.
The build quality is actualy realy good, nothing creeks, and its VERY solid, the reviews mostly had Beta Versions of this not Final Versions, thats why they complain. Only two downsides are that the buttons are pretty hard and take some getting used to and 2nd is that its made out of high quality glossy plastic which is a finger print magnet so you have to keep whipping it after a while otherwise its all good.

Sound quality on headset is like cheap 70s radio next to ear! - simply not good enough Nokia
Battery life shocking - used for day in London & came home with flat battery - simply not good enough Nokia
Microphone picks up background noise better than your voice - in noisy environment you end up shouting - not good enough Nokia
Bluetooth worse than useless with your voice transmitted with stutter - not good enough Nokia
Camera is a 2mp one,next to useless and not able to fully utilise the 16million colour screen(guys at forum Nokia ask what does fully utilise 16million screen-nothing!)
No PC lead, so cannot download software update,supplier says will cure problem get one included
Nokia have gone a step too far in trying to get the Sony-Ericsson/Samsung crowd to use s60.

Word tshepiso, the Cell C is a good deal at this moment! Although I don't like the service provider because of its lack of internet capabilities, Ill try to check it out! Uhm dude how is tha build quality, some reviews say it looks cheap and kind of loose-it creaks when pressed down... Halla man?

Forget Virgin!! I got mine at Cell C ,cash for R4197 :-D ay im 17 turning 18 in two months bra, if you can go and get it cash from Cell C!

Sup man? Totaly agree with what you said. Im in Johannesburg South Africa, and you? Don't worry, audio quality of N81 is better than W960, in GSMarena audio test W960 came out a little louder.

Absolutely. Ive loaded mine with a Movie, a couple of South Park Episodes and a HipHop Documentary all great quality.

oh ya, i forgot to mention. If you are a person who is obsessed about taking pictures with phone, i would say that you will not be satisfied. It has lots of function in camera mode, but the quality is not great. I dont mind because i hardly use camera in phone, i use my Canon Ixus 900Ti for that:-)

The phone is great. Great sound quality, fast UI, loads of softwares, excellent connectivity with PC and loaded with features. Im completely satisfied, been using for about a month - N81 2GB.
Quit complaining bout its keypad all, it just takes time to get used to it.

The only downside of the phone so far i have noticed is its surface - its very smooth and shiny, so its get oily fast. Have to keep wiping :-)

I would recommend to anyone who is planning to get it...
