Nokia N81 8GB - user opinions and reviews

Nokia

> In reply to ahmed @ 2008-10-01 20:21 from TIDPYes you can create folders. Its a fantastic phone! Very versatile, the extra keys you get with it allow use in any orientation you want it, be it landscape or portrait. Its a very stable phone, runs extremely smooth, has amazing audio quality, it can multitask without slowing down, i ran just over 10apps at once and it just kept its speed. The keypad is great, very easy to use, nothing is loose. With latest firmware it has the complete FP2 Menu Transitions and Effects, its well built no creaky covers or anything, it has long battery life due to its 1050mAh Li-Polymer battery which are the best quality batteries available plus it has On-Demand-Paging for less power consumption and less RAM consumption. Its the best for Gaming and Music currently, it does both plus others VERY WELL, the way its supposed to withov any glitches. Its a great Multimedia device, you'll enjoy it, i'd also look at 6210-Nav, 5320xm,6220c,N96, N79 and N85 since both those are the only FP2 devices worth getting. :)

Excuse me, but TRUE AUDIOPHILES wouldn't want their music processed or anything, so they wouldn't use a N91 either.
In the latest Nseries the N81 is the best at audio, i wouldn't buy a N91 just to listen to music. If i was a true audiophile i would get something thats especialy made for extreme high quality audio, and no phone can produce that. The people who use a N91 are not true audiophiles, just "wanna be's". The N91 was useless at everything else, couldnt even run Web and a large Document at the same time without closing something down. Its main purpose was to be a smartphone but couldn't do that.

> In reply to ahmed @ 2008-10-01 20:21 from TIDPYes,of course it can

The multitasking go well even you're browsing web while listening to the music
The sound itself is good heard from the headset or loudspeaker

N81 is for average users only. It will satisfy the least demanding people. But for audiophiles, N91 is perfect. It doesn't leave you hanging.

n81 can only wish it had the same audio quality of n91! when you owned an n91 and used it as your main music player for 3 years, it's hard to downgrade to another music phone as much as sound quality is concerned. no arguments can change the fact that n91's sound quality is much better than n81's! n81 is just a "should've, would've, could've been" device! it always has a sense of incompleteness!

What? N78 cam only 3.2 mp? The same camera like old N73 has, 6500 slide even better cause of it's double LED flash. I prefer N82 instead cause of it's 5.0 MP CAM + XENON FLASH

N81 sound quality is the best in Nokia, not like the ugly looking museum artifact N91 + "I feel sory for buy it" N78

The N81 has far better audio quality than a N78. The N76 certainly has amazing audio quality, it even has true bass in its loudspeakers. The N81 and N91 share the same Toshiba DAC33 audio chip hence why both weigh quite a bit, the difference is the DSP. The N91 has a Texas Instruments DSP in its CPU which is running at 220mhz, whereas N81 has a StarCore SC140e DSP running at 250mhz and the CPU running at 369mhz.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-10-01 17:16 from vpaSfor the last time, let's clarify the confusion. n91 and n81 have different audio chips. even nokia nseries product manager when interviewed in london at nokia go play event last year said that n81's sound quality is close to n91, but not equal.

whoa

n81 is also equipped with the same audio processor as the n91 right?

n91 has been touted as the king of all when it comes to sound

and I think n81 is the sequel...

anonymous: have you heard the sound of n76 through the 3.5 jack? I've heard it too and I agree with chris as well as with the many others. N76 has the best sound quality not only in nseries but in all of nokia handsets. Some se walkman and samsung could beat it though.

> In reply to chris @ 2008-10-01 13:14 from vpYQn91 has the best sound quality among all nseries followed by n78! n81 has the worst, even worse than n72!

Lol they have to come to the N81 Forum to TRY convincing themselves that the n78 is a good phone.
The only 2noobs here. there are the ones who hopped in and bought a n78 instead of waiting for the N79, and then the others who claim a n78 is better than a N82. LOL!
